Hillary to Israel: Don’t Count on Me!

Robert Randle is a fellow writer over at Faithwriters.com and this article just begged to be shared with as many people as possible. I have included it here for all my regular readers and will be adding it to the “Pop Goes the Gospel” blog carnival being published later this month. This is such a timely and appropriate article in light of all that is happening in the United States of America under the current Obama administration. These are frightening times and exciting times, I guess it all depends on how you view God’s provision and providence.

Hillary Clinton’s comment may be a wake-up call for Israel
By Robert Randle

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s recent statement at the summit called AIPAC should have been a reality check for the Israeli people; not to mention, another glaring example of American hubris. While avowing unrelenting support for the nation of Israel, she went on to say that with all the sophisticated weapons and technology being developed by the enemy, [in light of this continually evolving situation], “WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PROTECT ISRAEL ANYMORE.” This unfortunate comment should have caused some consternation among the Israeli political leadership including Benjamin Netanyahu and Barak Ehud; as well as outrage among Israeli citizens and other people as well. It says that if America wasn’t around to scare away all the enemies and haters of Israel who are bent on her destruction or annihilation, she would not even exist. Perhaps Israel needs to rethink its relationship with the United States, Western European countries, and her role within the United Nations as well.

In the Jewish Bible [“TANAKH“] there are some lessons to be learned from the Jews depending on or soliciting for military deliverance from other nations instead of their God. In 2 Kings 16: 1, 7, 9, King Ahaz of Judah paid tribute to Tiglath-Pileser to save them from the armies of the Kings of Syria and Israel. Also, in 2 Kings 17: 1, 3-4, King Hoshea of Israel conspired with the King of Egypt to come to his aid against Shalmaneser, King of Assyria, and when the Assyrian King uncovered the plot, he imprisoned King Hoshea and besieged the capitol [Samaria] for three years and carried away the people captive.

Later in 2 Kings 18: 17, 19-21, 32b; 19: 16, 19-22, 32-34, Rabshakeh, the Chief of Staff for Sennacherib King of Assyria taunted King Hezekiah and the people along the wall in Judah [the city of Jerusalem], and speaking for King Sennacherib, said, “Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the LORD [Adonai??] should [can] deliver Jerusalem from my hand?” (Cp. 18: 35). What is instructive for the political leaders of modern-day Israel is what King Hezekiah did as recorded in 2 Kings 19: 1, 20, 32, 34: And so it was, when King Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth [and ashes??], and went into the house of the LORD. Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ’Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib King of Assyria, I have heard.’ ” “Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the King of Assyria: ’He shall not come [set foot] into this city [Jerusalem], Nor shoot an arrow there, Nor come before it with shield, Nor build a siege mound against it. “For I will defend this city [Jerusalem], to save it for My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.”

Ironically enough, the remnant of the children of Israel [tribe of Judah, no doubt] wanted to return back to Egypt, the very country which their ancestors were enslaved, as it says in Jeremiah 42: 9a, 10a, 13-14; 43: 7a: Thus says the LORD, “If you will remain in this land, then I will build you and not pull you down, and I will plant you and not pluck you up. “But if you say, ’We will not dwell in this land,’ disobeying the voice of the LORD your God, saying, ’No, but we will go to the land of Egypt where we shall not see war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor be hungry for bread, and there we will dwell.’ ” So they went into the land of Egypt, for they did not obey the voice of the LORD.” Eventually Egypt was defeated and Israel went into captivity, anyway (Cp. Jeremiah 46: 1-28).

The people of Israel as well as the rest of the world needs to recognize that God has on occasion punished the Jews for their transgression of His Law [Torah], which included plagues (diseases), military defeat, captivity and exile into foreign lands, but nevertheless, as it says in Proverbs 21: 31: The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance is of the LORD. God will protect Israel from her enemies and will gather them from all the nations around the world to settle them in the land promised to the patriarch Abraham and codified in the Law [Torah] given at Mount Sinai; irrespective of the negotiations between the United States, Israel, the UN and the Palestinians about the settlement issue in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza.

Finally, it is not about having fighter jets with “STEALTH TECHNOLOGY” traveling at several times the speed of sound or having some of the best pilots in the world, or how many nuclear bombs they have, or equipping their soldiers with the latest in body armor and sensors to detect chemical, radiological, and biological weapons, and other such capabilities to wage modern warfare. The very opposite existed for their ancestors who were at a tactical disadvantage in almost every encounter before their enemies; especially when it came to the development of iron weapons. The one thing Israel had, though, was unwavering ’faith’ in the promises of God and as long as she trusted in the LORD, Israel was victorious. The people of Israel need to be reminded of this because their sacred Scriptures teach:

Exodus 14: 14
The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

Deuteronomy 1: 30
The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes.

1 Samuel 17: 47
Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear [weapons]; for the battle is the LORD’S, and He will give you into our hands.

Zechariah 4: 6b
So he answered and said to me, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of Hosts [YHVH Sabaoth].”

The Jewish people, their military and political leaders need to return [repent] to their LORD God through living according with the Law [Torah] and not adopt the customs of America and Western Europe. When this happens, the blessings which come to Israel will flow throughout the entire world and we will all be better off because of this.

The Fix Is In

House Minority Leader John Boehner addresses the floor of the house prior to the house vote on Health Care legislation.
On Sunday March 21st the House of Representatives passed what was called the Health Care Reform Act, which empowers the federal government to force individuals to purchase Government approved health care coverage. At the same time the house also presented to the floor for a vote a Health Care Reconciliation Act which was written to FIX the original bill they had just passed. Many were opposed to the original bill because they said it was a flawed bill and the reconciliation bill was an attempt to FIX THE BILL. Now I do not know about you but doesn’t this sound crazy to anyone else besides me? I mean they all knew the bill was flawed, imperfect, contained troublesome language, but they passed it anyway. This is what has most average thinking Americans outraged at this administrations lax of prudence and due diligence. They do not care what they pass just so they pass something. They are always in a hurry to spend our hard earned money. There was the TARP bill which failed. The 1st and 2nd Stimulus bills which failed miserably. They were all rushed through congress and forced upon the American people as MUST DO legislation. Now I think the only must do legislation that needs to take place is legislating these folks out of a job QUICKLY.

University of Arkansas Steps Up Racial Controversy

And yet another cry of foul comes bellowing out of the ashes of racial equality. I watched this video and from what I saw these girls where being cheered wildly for their step routine. When it came time to announce the winners of the $100,000 scholarship check you can clearly hear the audience shouting Zeta Tau Alpha as their pick. There does not seem to be the tiniest hint of racial tension or discrimination taking place in that auditorium.

So then were exactly does this racial tension come from? Who is it that cried fowl? Was it the second place team because they were not able to arouse the audience to root for them as well as the Arkansas team did? This sounds more like POOR SPORTSMANSHIP to this old bird and not anything racial. If this competition was to be a Black only event then this Arkansas team should not have even been allowed to compete. If there was an entrance fee to pay and every team paid their fair then, like any other competition, there can only be one winner. The loser here I believe is Sprite for acquiescing to racial pressure and awarding a second $100,000 scholarship.

It is apparent to this writer that the only place racial discrimination seems to rear its ugly head is in the so called “establishment” mentality. It is all this POLITICAL correctness that is mudding the waters of social harmony. It is segregationist thinking being propagated by organizations seeking their own aggrandizement that continues to fuel the flames of racial divisiveness. These organizations and their associated leaders have long ago lost relevancy but yet they continue to manufacture relevance by stirring racial tension at every opportunity afforded them. These same organizations would argue over the amount of Vanilla ice cream served versus Chocolate in an ice cream parlor if they could garner prestige and relevance by doing so.

To the ladies of Arkansas University I say WELL DONE! To those propagating racial unrest I say take a seat, your time has come and gone. And to Sprite I say shame on you for caving to this contrivance of a controversy. Everyone present had a fair chance of winning and there was not even a hint of partiality or discrimination shown in the awarding of the initial scholarship. In fact you would have thought the girls from Arkansas would not have had an even chance in a sport dominated by the African American culture. Yet the crowd loved them.

To those crying foul here is your DODO bird award! Eagle out!

State of the Union Addresses: A Comparative Study

Portrait by Gilbert Stuart, 1795

Coming to office at a time when unemployment was high and the economy had slowed to a crawl the President of the United States stood at the podium and delivered his State of the Union Address. He looked back to illuminate the past with it’s accomplishments and errors, and pointed to the future with hope and courage. He addressed the congress and the American people that change is hard but it must be done to erase the errors of the past and forge a new America. To restore again the values that we hold dear.

Now I present to you the President of the United States.

Mr. Speaker, Mr. President, distinguished Members of the Congress, honored guests, and fellow citizens:

Today marks my first State of the Union address to you, a constitutional duty as old as our Republic itself.

President Washington began this tradition in 1790 after reminding the Nation that the destiny of self-government and the “preservation of the sacred fire of liberty” is “finally staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.” For our friends in the press, who place a high premium on accuracy, let me say: I did not actually hear George Washington say that. But it is a matter of historic record.

But from this podium, Winston Churchill asked the free world to stand together against the onslaught of aggression. Franklin Delano Roosevelt spoke of a day of infamy and summoned a nation to arms. Douglas MacArthur made an unforgettable farewell to a country he loved and served so well. Dwight Eisenhower reminded us that peace was purchased only at the price of strength. And John F. Kennedy spoke of the burden and glory that is freedom.

When I visited this Chamber last year as a newcomer to Washington, critical of past policies which I believed had failed, I proposed a new spirit of partnership between this Congress and this administration and between Washington and our State and local governments. In forging this new partnership for America, we could achieve the oldest hopes of our Republic–prosperity for our nation, peace for the world, and the blessings of individual liberty for our children and, someday, for all of humanity.

It’s my duty to report to you tonight on the progress that we have made in our relations with other nations, on the foundation we’ve carefully laid for our economic recovery, and finally, on a bold and spirited initiative that I believe can change the face of American government and make it again the servant of the people.

Seldom have the stakes been higher for America. What we do and say here will make all the difference to autoworkers in Detroit, lumberjacks in the Northwest, steelworkers in Steubenville who are in the unemployment lines; to black teenagers in Newark and Chicago; to hard-pressed farmers and small businessmen; and to millions of everyday Americans who harbor the simple wish of a safe and financially secure future for their children. To understand the state of the Union, we must look not only at where we are and where we’re going but where we’ve been. The situation at this time last year was truly ominous.

The last decade has seen a series of recessions. There was a recession in 1970, in 1974, and again in the spring of 1980. Each time, unemployment increased and inflation soon turned up again. We coined the word “stagflation” to describe this.

Government’s response to these recessions was to pump up the money supply and increase spending. In the last 6 months of 1980, as an example, the money supply increased at the fastest rate in postwar history–13 percent. Inflation remained in double digits, and government spending increased at an annual rate of 17 percent. Interest rates reached a staggering 21.5 percent. There were 8 million unemployed.

The Unprecedented President

the 44th President of the United States...Bara...

Wednesday evening President Barack Obama will give his State of the Union address. An address he hopes will change his sinking poll numbers and pull his unprecedented Presidency out of the free fall it currently finds itself in. This unprecedented President has fallen so fast that is it well unprecedented. This latest achievement can be added to his other unprecedented accomplishments since taking office a year ago. Let us take a look at a few shall we?

2009 started out with the unprecedented election of the first non-white President of these United States. There in fact are some who would argue he is the unprecedented undocumented President to occupy the White House. His election was reported as ‘historic‘. Surely it was unprecedented in the amount of money spent on his campaign.

Perhaps it was a sign when President Barack Obama sat down in January to record his first weekly address and announced:

“We begin this year and this administration in the midst of an unprecedented crisis that calls for unprecedented action.”

What has followed is declaration after declaration of “unprecedented” milestones.

http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message930907/pg1

Unprecedented spending. Has spent more money then all Presidents since Washington combined. Congress has again asked for an increase in the debt limit now over 14 trillion dollars

Unprecedented taxing of anything that moves and if it keeps moving tax it even more

Unprecedented bowing to foreign dignitaries

Unprecedented take over of private companies

Unprecedented lack of knowledge concerning foreign and domestic policies

Unprecedented lack of credentials no birth certificate or actual executive experience. Did he ever really hold a real job?

Unprecedented granting of Constitutional rights to enemy combatants while simultaneously taking them away from actual American Citizens.

Unprecedented nepotism and cronyism when handing out government jobs and taxpayer money.

Unprecedented SPEED in passing 1000+ paged bills without even having read them and at the same time taking almost 9 months to decide what help to provide our Armed forces serving in Afghanistan

Unprecedented number of times and places where this President apologizes to foreign nations for the HORRORS of America

Unprecedented number of times he promotes Islam as a PEACEFUL religion while at the same time his administration demonizes Christians and grass roots Americans calling them TERRORISTS and a THREAT to this Nation.

Unprecedented appointment of Czars.

Unprecedented number of appearances on Sunday night televisions news programs.

Unprecedented number of televised speeches delivered during his first 100 days. Totally 411 for the year. And yet he says America had not heard his message.

Yes indeed we have an unprecedented President.
