Crony capitalism, not lousy output, worst part of giant solar plant

The world’s largest solar power plant opened this week in Southern California and while some are applauding the operations, others are not. The 550-megawatt Desert Sunlight solar project is in the town of Desert Center, California. That’s near the Joshua Tree National Park. Officials say the project generates enough electricity to power 160,000 homes, USA Today reported.

Desert Sunlight is owned by three mega-million dollar corporations, and yet they are given TAXPAYER money as loan guarentees to invest in this project. A similar project in Nevada has not lived up to its hype for power production. The reason given for its underperformance was it was cloudy. Most of these ‘green energy initiatives’ are not profitable businesses therefore in order to entice mega-million dollar businesses to invest in a loosing project is to guarentee them TAXPAYER funded loans. If the companies fail the taxpayer will be given the bill. Heck I would start a business if I had the guarentee of the federal government that someone else was going to pay for it if it failed.

How much more of this crony-capitialism are we going to take? Remember for every dollar the federal government gives to these multi-million dollar corporations is one less dollar you have to provide for your family. We have to work very hard for the dollars we earn, we do not have a deep pocketed sugar daddy handing us millions of dollars to line our pockets with.

The Supreme Court Seems to Be Clearing the Way for Federally Recognized Gay Marriage

In much the same way that the Supreme Court “legalized” abortion, the liberal justices seem to be moving to “legalize” gay marriage. This is to say that the Court is in no way “legalizing” anything, but instead ruling that the states cannot make these things “illegal”.

Congress Defies Obama, Approves Keystone XL Pipeline

U.S. a lot redder since ’08: Study shows massive shift

Ironically, after Americans voted a Democratic president into the White House in 2008, a sweeping shift to the Right has manifested from coast-to-coast – possibly signifying nationwide discontent with the Obama administration’s liberal policies and government intrusions.

Dispite all efforts of progressives and liberals to paint America blue, it would appear that the America actually has RED BLOOD running through her veins. Efforts are underway by the grassroots to manage the federal leviathan at the state and local levels.

There is a tangible movement throughout the land to take America back to her roots, back to the Constitutional Republic entrusted to us by her founders.

The Tyranny of Minority: How special interests groups are destroying our republic

When America’s Founding Fathers gathered in Philadelphia in the Summer of 1787 to write a Constitution for the United States, they were undoubtedly and collectively under the guidance of the Creator, from whom they acknowledged as the grantor of all human rights and the Blessings of Liberty.

Americans from coast to coast in all walks of life are being savagely stripped of their rights and freedoms on a daily basis. While certain rights and freedoms have been stripped away by unconscionable and callous acts of the Democratic majority Congress in 2009-2010, the majority of this new tyranny is the even more callous and evil actions of unelected administrative bureaucrats in Washington, unelected judiciary at the state and federal level, and the unelected, unappointed and unaccountable “ special interest groups “ with agendas clearly destructive of rights and freedoms of the American people. Unlike the “ Tyranny of the Majority “ so rightly feared by our founders more than two centuries ago, this new and terrifying wave of despotic rule is a “ Tyranny of the Minority “ .

Informed Americans are painfully aware of the destructive forces called “ special interest groups “, who, representing tiny but inordinately powerful minorities, have “ chipped away at the base of the Liberty Tree “ to the point that it is in grave danger of being toppled and replaced by dictatorship of the powerful few.

Christian Apologist Destroys Obama’s Crusades vs Jihad Argument!

Ravi Zacharias is a brilliant Christian apologist who routinely travels the world debating the foremost secular thinkers on various Christianity-related topics. Google Hires a Gaggle of Lobbyists to Fight New Government Regulations

The enemy is within folks. When businesses have to first conjole the government before they can think about expansion and developement we are off the reservation. To think that a company even needs to hire one lobbying firm let alone 12 is a sad state of the American business climate. All these politicians want is a piece of the pie and they are seeking the highest bidder to pay to play so to speak. This has been going on under both GOP and Dem leadership and has to stop.

The whole lobbying scene gives new meaning to capital hill. Bring your capital to the hill and we will then decide if you can do business in America.

The biggest hurdle to job creation is the federal government. It is time to tame this shrew. What say you?

A federal probe of Google’s search industry dominance has the company mobilizing in Washington: It announced Friday it would hire 12 new lobbying firms in a move that will grow its Beltway footprint, influence and balance sheet.

It will likely be a mix of new, outside Democratic and Republican pickups taking Google’s message to Congress, the FTC and beyond. Their chief goal is to explain Google’s business model, push back against antitrust affronts and further work on other issues affecting the company, including online privacy and copyright reform.

Debates are raging on Capitol Hill over potential new rules of the road for Web companies and online advertisers — and those conversations could have serious impact on Google’s bottom line. Meanwhile, congressional interest in reforming copyright laws and addressing Internet freedom also draw Google into the political fray.

Indiana Latest State to Battle the Federal Government

Indiana appears to be the next state to challenge federal law by passing a law of their own. Like Arizona on Immigration, Wisconsin on public sector unions, Florida on Obamacare, Indiana is taking on Taxpayer funded Abortions.

State officials in Indiana say they will defy the decision by the Obama administration asking it to not proceed with implementing a new pro-life state law that would revoke taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

Governor Mitch Daniels (a republican) signed the law , which would cut off anywhere from $2 million to $3 million the Planned Parenthood abortion business receives in federal funds via the Indiana government through Medicaid . Daniels said that “any organization affected by this provision can resume receiving taxpayer dollars immediately by ceasing or separating its operations that perform abortions.”

Like all other federal programs however, the feds like to have the last word. What they can not get passed through legislation they force upon the American people through the many agencies in the bloated federal government.

However, the Obama administration told the state it can’t implement the new law, with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Donald Berwick denying a request to deny funds saying the federal Medicaid law stipulates that states can’t exclude providers based on the services they provide.

See a pattern here? A state passes a law that the federal government does not like and the federal government steps in to threaten the state and force them to comply.

Planned Parenthood challenged the constitutionality of the law and filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Indianapolis just hours after Daniels signed the legislation into law. It alleges the law would violate contracts already in place between it and the state and that it forces Planned Parenthood to choose between doing abortions and getting taxpayer funding.

On the heels of the federal government strong-arm tactics lawsuits are filed by the various special interest groups, all designed to force states to spend even more taxpayer money to fight off the federal government. The federal government has gotten way out of hand. They have usurped their limited constitutional powers and have set themselves up as supreme rulers.

“The Obama administration appears to be intent on trying to force Indiana to subsidize the business of abortion in direct contrast to the desires of the state legislature and the people of Indiana.  Indiana must refuse to be bullied by the federal government and must challenge this politically-charged determination with full vigor.  The state of Indiana has a right to determine how it will manage its Medicaid program and to select the providers it will partner with.  Planned Parenthood is not entitled to public funding,” he said.

The people voted in 2010 and sent a strong message to Washington that "we the people" are still in charge of America. They sent a loud message that they were not happy with the direction the Federal government was taking the country and they voted to replace state and local leadership hoping they will be more responsive to the ‘will of the people’. Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Wisconsin all seem to have gotten the message and are working hard to return the country back to the people. At each step of the journey the federal government is spending taxpayer money to fight against the tax payers.

There are more of us then there are of you so be warned, things are about to get very interesting for 2012.

The Sleeping Giant Has Awakened

As the deadline for the budget impasse approaches the usual suspects are flapping their gums attempting to be relevant. What passes for news today is really pathetic. I do not know if it is the failure of higher education or if the producers of these news programs are simply ideologically driven, in any case real journalism has died in America and along with it critical thinking. Whatever the reason it is what it is.

That being said, there is far more at stake than a continuing budget resolution to fund the federal government another week or two or three. What is at stake is the fiscal health of the country. We are well past the place to allow business as usual to continue. I think even the most jaded among us will have to finally admit America can no longer afford government largess. It is time to lock up the check book, cut up the credit card, eliminate the expense accounts and hold the federal bureaucrats accountable for their actions.

budget cuts

If you are like me for many years we simply went about our business and paid little mind to politics or the political process, that was until the election of 2008. The two years leading up to this historic election shook me out of my political slumber and I realized that for too long I have been passive.  As a result, the federal till was left unattended, and our national treasure was being looted. Like the frog in the kettle, many of us had tolerated the ever-increasing federal bureaucracy and the slow erosion of our liberties, but the current administration turned up the heat too fast and we frogs realized we were being boiled alive.

We have been stirred into action. We are no longer sitting back and allowing the foxes to raid the hen-house. As a result, the curtain has been drawn back and those who have hidden in the dark have been exposed to the light. It is a new day in America. It is no longer business as usual. The sleeping giant has been awakened, and he is wielding a big club. Fee fi foe fum budget cuts are about to come. There I said it and I meant it. What say you?

But I Am Entitled

Give Me and then give me some more. That is not what made America great and anyone with half a mind can see entitlements are destroying the very financial strength of this country. We need to cut federal entitlement programs and we need to cut them now.
