Politicians Take Note

One thing our Founding Fathers could not foresee…was a nation governed by professional politicians who had a vested interest in getting reelected. They probably envisioned a fellow serving a couple of hitches and then looking…forward to getting back to the farm. Ronald Wilson Reagan

Former California Governor Ronald Wilson Reagan and later President of the United States saw professional politicians as an enemy of the state. Today’s politicians may have never worked the farm but they sure are giving away the farm. The current climate of Washington Politics makes one wonder if the home of the brave and the land of the free is being sold out beneath our feet by the very ones who are supposed to be watching out for our interests.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.Prov 29:2 (NKJV)

The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: ’He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God.2 Sam 23:3 (NKJV)

Your princes are rebellious, And companions of thieves; Everyone loves bribes, And follows after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, Nor does the cause of the widow come before them.Isaiah 1:23 (NKJV)

A Prayer for President’s Day

“We have staked the whole of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.” —James Madison

Presidents Day is a day to celebrate the lives of Presidents Washington and Lincoln.  America’s beloved first President was born, according to the Gregorian calendar, on Feb. 22, 1732.  And America’s 16th President was born on Feb. 12, 1809.

In 1971, Congress decided to merge the birthdays into a one-day celebration and deemed that “Washington’s Birthday,” also known as Presidents Day, would be moved from February 22 to the third Monday in February.

“Believing that a representative government, responsible at short periods of election, is that which produces the greatest sum of happiness to mankind, I feel it a duty to do no act which shall essentially impair that principle.”—George Washington

“I leave you hoping that the lamp of liberty will burn in your bosoms until there shall no longer be a doubt that all men are created free and equal.”—Abraham Lincoln

“The only assurance of our nation’s safety is to lay our foundation in morality and religion.”  – Abraham Lincoln

When Washington was leading his troops in the struggle for independence, he was greatly discouraged during the harsh winter the army was gathered at Valley Forge. A resident of Valley Forge, Isaac Potts, was walking through the woods when he heard a man praying aloud. He peeked through some trees to see that it was General Washington himself!

Isaac Potts later told his pastor, the Rev. Nathaniel Snowden, that the prayer he heard was “a plaintive sound” coming from a man in need of divine help. Mr. Potts went on to say that he saw Washington on his knees, his sword on one side and his cocked hat on the other. He heard Washington beseeching God for aid and direction. “Such a prayer,” Isaac said, “I never heard from the lips of man. I left him alone praying.”

Once again our nation is beset with great barriers to overcome. We are faced as a nation with many national decisions to make. As a nation we are poised on the precipice of bankruptcy and ruin. At such a time as this it is only fitting to once again fall to our knees and offer a plaintive sound of a nation in need of divine guidance and providence once again. So we beseech the God of Washington and Lincoln once again:

Lord of heaven and earth, we offer you our deepest appreciation for this blessed land. Stir up a sense of stewardship in every citizen so we all may care for our nation and each inhabitant of it.

We pray especially for our leaders. Prompt everyone in a position of authority, from local to national leaders, to strive for righteousness, justice and the welfare of all citizens.

Finally, we pray that we may be ever mindful of the psalmist’s teaching that “Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord …” (Psalm 33:12, NRSV). May that promise become real “from sea to shining sea.” Amen.

Finally a Prominent Democrat Goes on Record Supporting Tax Cuts

Picture of John F. Kennedy

Tax reduction thus sets off a process that can bring gains for everyone, gains won by marshaling resources that would otherwise stand idle—workers without jobs and farm and factory capacity without markets. Yet many taxpayers seemed prepared to deny the nation the fruits of tax reduction because they question the financial soundness of reducing taxes when the federal budget is already in deficit. Let me make clear why, in today’s economy, fiscal prudence and responsibility call for tax reduction even if it temporarily enlarged the federal deficit—why reducing taxes is the best way open to us to increase revenues. _President John F. Kennedy,   Economic Report of the President,

Now there is a Kennedy legacy that should be promoted and not universal health care. I wonder if this is why he was shot? Just wondering considering how vitriolic the left are toward anyone mentioning tax cuts today.

Pray for our Country, Pray for our Leaders

I like the way the Good News Bible reads on this verse: A wise person’s heart leads the right way. The heart of a fool leads the wrong way. Ecclesiastes 10:2 pray therefore that our President starts to seek after wisdom rather than clinging to his ideology.

The Unprecedented President

the 44th President of the United States...Bara...

Wednesday evening President Barack Obama will give his State of the Union address. An address he hopes will change his sinking poll numbers and pull his unprecedented Presidency out of the free fall it currently finds itself in. This unprecedented President has fallen so fast that is it well unprecedented. This latest achievement can be added to his other unprecedented accomplishments since taking office a year ago. Let us take a look at a few shall we?

2009 started out with the unprecedented election of the first non-white President of these United States. There in fact are some who would argue he is the unprecedented undocumented President to occupy the White House. His election was reported as ‘historic‘. Surely it was unprecedented in the amount of money spent on his campaign.

Perhaps it was a sign when President Barack Obama sat down in January to record his first weekly address and announced:

“We begin this year and this administration in the midst of an unprecedented crisis that calls for unprecedented action.”

What has followed is declaration after declaration of “unprecedented” milestones.

Unprecedented spending. Has spent more money then all Presidents since Washington combined. Congress has again asked for an increase in the debt limit now over 14 trillion dollars

Unprecedented taxing of anything that moves and if it keeps moving tax it even more

Unprecedented bowing to foreign dignitaries

Unprecedented take over of private companies

Unprecedented lack of knowledge concerning foreign and domestic policies

Unprecedented lack of credentials no birth certificate or actual executive experience. Did he ever really hold a real job?

Unprecedented granting of Constitutional rights to enemy combatants while simultaneously taking them away from actual American Citizens.

Unprecedented nepotism and cronyism when handing out government jobs and taxpayer money.

Unprecedented SPEED in passing 1000+ paged bills without even having read them and at the same time taking almost 9 months to decide what help to provide our Armed forces serving in Afghanistan

Unprecedented number of times and places where this President apologizes to foreign nations for the HORRORS of America

Unprecedented number of times he promotes Islam as a PEACEFUL religion while at the same time his administration demonizes Christians and grass roots Americans calling them TERRORISTS and a THREAT to this Nation.

Unprecedented appointment of Czars.

Unprecedented number of appearances on Sunday night televisions news programs.

Unprecedented number of televised speeches delivered during his first 100 days. Totally 411 for the year. And yet he says America had not heard his message.

Yes indeed we have an unprecedented President.
