US wants to paint the world white to save energy

LONDON(AFP) (AFP) –
US Energy Secretary Steven Chu said Tuesday the Obama administration wanted to paint roofs an energy-reflecting white, as he took part in a climate change symposium in London.

The Nobel laureate in physics called for a “new revolution” in energy generation to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

But he warned there was no silver bullet for tackling climate change, and said a range of measures should be introduced, including painting flat roofs white.

Making roads and roofs a paler colour could have the equivalent effect
of taking every car in the world off the road for 11 years, Chu said.

It was a geo-engineering scheme that was “completely benign” and would
keep buildings cooler and reduce energy use from air conditioning, as
well as reflecting sunlight back away from the Earth.

For people who found white hard on the eye, scientists had also
developed “cool colours” which looked to the human eye like normal
ones, but reflect heat like pale colours even if they are darker shades.

And painting cars in cool or light colours could deliver considerable savings on energy use for air conditioning units, he said.

Speaking at the start of a symposium on climate change hosted by the Prince of Wales and attended by more than 20 Nobel laureates, Chu said fresh thinking was required to cut the amount of carbon created by power generation.

College educated, Chu believes that if we just paint all our cars and house roofs white we could effectively reduce climate change the equivalent of taking every car in the world off the road for 11 yrs. I think he should get his money back from the college he went to. Apparently he did not learn any “real knowledge” at that University. Yup sounds like one flew over the cuckoo’s nest on that one. Can I hear anyone say LOONIE TUNES? Cuckoo cuckoo. Me thinks this guy is too smart by half. Not a very good advertisement for University either. What say you?

Does CO2 Cause Global Warming? We Debate You Decide


You decide whom you believe. Al Gore or several climatologists. You decide if a naturally occuring gas that we exhale and plants inhale for growth could actually cause Global warming. And if the earth does warm is that really a problem? I mean what is the alternative? Another ICE AGE? How is that going to save energy or promote PLANT growth on the planet? It would appear to me that common sense dictates that God would not create a GAS CO2 which is needed to sustain life would actually be detrimental to that life. I do believe man can cause global warming but not from CO2 but from S I N.

In the end it will not be man causing global warming but God. Check this out:

Global Warming Experts Schizophrenic

An environmental policy expert is questioning a solution to the alleged problem of global John Holdren (science advisor)warming that is being offered by Obama’s science advisor.

According to an Associated Press interview, Obama’s science advisor John Holdren has suggested that a solution to the problem of so-called man-made global warming is to shoot pollution into the upper atmosphere in order to reflect the sun. He adds that solution would only be a last resort, but says the problem of global warming is dire.

James Taylor, the senior fellow of environment policy at  The Heartland Institute, says Holdren is overreacting to a non-issue because global temperatures have actually dipped in the last few years, despite computer models calling for an increase. On the other hand, Taylor acknowledges Holdren’s efforts.

“Holdren is on to something here in the sense that scientists know that if we had more sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere, this would dramatically cool the planet,” he notes. “Volcanoes release such particles; any major volcano eruption has the tendency to cool the planet for years after the eruption.”

But in its original intent, the Act was used to remove human emissions of sulfur dioxide. OneNewsNow asked if simply repealing the Clean Air Act would have the same effect.

“Well, that’s certainly one way we could go about it,” Taylor concludes, laughing. “But we do know that global warming is not accelerating, temperatures have not been rising for most of the past decade — and we really have nothing to worry about.”

Global Warming: The Signs and The Science

This one certainly belongs in the cuckoo’s nest for the sheer nonsense of it all. To think these global warming scientists actually believe all this stuff. On one hand they are telling us to STOP POLLUTING and then they turn around and say they need to send POLLUTION into the atmosphere to COOL THE PLANET. WAIT A MINUTE I thought pollution was causing the atomosphere to HEAT UP. DID I miss something here? Which is it? Is man-made pollution heating or cooling the planet? And to think people actually take these people seriously and then they turn around and call me a ‘birdbrain’. I think I hear the men in their white lab coats coming for you John. Eagle out!
