In Defense of the LGBT Community

Indeed, let God btrue but every man a liar. As it is written: “That You may be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are judged.” Romans 3:4 (NKJV)

I am growing weary with the constant barrage of acronyms flooding our language lexicon, and the secular humanists redefining the terms and manipulating our language to advance their agenda. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and redefine one of their terms by taking an acronym of theirs and repurposing it to reflect a Christian centric world view. I chose to use the acronym LGBT and I will define it thusly: Let God Be True… and every man a liar.

It is interesting to note that the discussion of persecution was raised by none other than Hillary Clinton in her defense of the LGBT community. It would seem there is a large-scale effort to protect a certain segment of society against persecution.

Speaking at a United Nations event in recognition of International Human Rights Day, Clinton pulled no punches in her defense of LGBT rights. She referred to the LGBT people as “human beings born free [with] equality and dignity” and said their struggle for rights is “one of the remaining human rights challenges of our time.”

To which I give an enthusiastic two thumps up! Well said Mrs Clinton. In fact I wholeheartedly agree.

Most satisfying, Clinton firmly rejected the idea that bias against LGBT people based on cultural or religious norms is acceptable in any nation.

“Now, raising this issue, I know, is sensitive for many people and that the obstacles standing in the way of protecting the human rights of LGBT people rest on deeply held personal, political, cultural, and religious beliefs,” Clinton said. “So I come here before you with respect, understanding, and humility. Even though progress on this front is not easy, we cannot delay acting.” In her remarks Mrs Clinton stated:

Today, I want to talk about the work we have left to do to protect one group of people whose human rights are still denied in too many parts of the world today. In many ways, they are an invisible minority. They are arrested, beaten, terrorized, even executed. Many are treated with contempt and violence by their fellow citizens while authorities empowered to protect them look the other way or, too often, even join in the abuse. They are denied opportunities to work and learn, driven from their homes and countries, and forced to suppress or deny who they are to protect themselves from harm.

I am talking about LBGT people, human beings born free and given bestowed equality and dignity, who have a right to claim that, which is now one of the remaining human rights challenges of our time. Many LGBT Americans have endured violence and harassment in their own lives, and for some, including many young people, bullying and exclusion are daily experiences. So we, like all nations, have more work to do to protect human rights at home.

It is not often I find myself in agreement with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton but I nod my head in agreement with these remarks. I agree that for far too long the LGBT community has been harassed, ridiculed, beaten, hated, mistreated, and in some extreme cases around the world abused or even killed; while the world at large turns a blind eye to this assault on a class of people.

We are no better in the United States regarding the LGBT community. Our record of mistreatment of the LGBT crowd is not very stellar. We have schools forbidding those who occupy this community from speaking freely, or practicing their lifestyles openly and honestly. We have laws forbidding this community from exercising their free speech rights and are barred from many public places because of their stance on social issues. Their lifestyles are frowned upon by many in our society, and for the most part they are treated like lepers.

This should not be permitted in a free and open society. The members of the LGBT community need to be respected and their beliefs should be regarded as equal to others. They should not be singled out for abuse or ridicule. They should not be treated like second class citizens. They should be free to live their lives without the fear of being accosted or bullied. So, echoing Mrs Clinton, I too want to take a stand to defend the members of the LGBT community and let them know that they have an ally here at the Eagle’s Nest. Let God BTrue! Amen

But those who are waiting for the Lord will have new strength; they will get wings like eagles: running, they will not be tired, and walking, they will have no weariness. Isaiah 40:31  (BBE)

Save the Earth By Loving Thy Neighbor

Random Ramblings from the Resident Raptor

Insight from the Journey across the Sky

All creation is eagerly waiting for God to reveal who his children are. Creation was subjected to frustration but not by its own choice. The one who subjected it to frustration did so in the hope that it would also be set free from slavery to decay in order to share the glorious freedom that the children of God will have. We know that all creation has been groaning with the pains of childbirth up to the present time.Romans 8:19-22 (GW)

For the commandments, You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:9-10 (NKJV)

Today is Earth Day, and I am hard pressed not to scream at the top of my lungs ENOUGH already! Last night my favorite show American Idol was overrun with environmentalist all trotting out the poor and sickly around the world with pleas for help. THROW them a life line they ask, while showing us pictures of poor souls dying from Malaria. The report goes on to say how many children are affected by this deadly disease and I want to scream… KILL THE MOSQUITOES and the disease will stop. BUT no because of Environmental policies enacted years ago these poor souls are allowed to die because the EPA decided that DDT was hazardous to birds. DDT is very effective at wiping out mosquito populations which would cut way down on the spread of malaria, HEY it worked in the United States didn’t it?

OH NO instead every year we will run ads showing sick kids dying of malaria and ask for money for mosquito nets. To an environmentalist I guess this makes sense. To a thinking caring person this is lunacy. Get to the source of the problem and eradicate it to protect the population. But no environmentalists would rather kill the population to save the planet. It would seem to me the environmentalist sees human beings as the pollutant that should be eliminated from the earth in order for the earth to return to it’s pristine state. There is nothing loving or caring about this approach. It would be far more loving to kill the mosquitoes than to watch loved ones die.

To add insult to injury, the segment addressing the aids problem in Africa was showcased by Ellen Degeneres and Annie Lennox (somewhat of a pop icon for the LBTG community). Annie did her segment while wearing an HIV Positive tee-shirt. Although not HIV positive herself she says she dons the apparel to highlight AIDS awareness. Annie got her iconic status from her earlier days with the Eurythmics when she would cross dress to protest the male dominance of the rock scene, the symbolism stuck. Perhaps the gay culture would be better served if she wore a Jesus saved me and he can save you too tee-shirt?

And then the United Nations Foundation promoting programs to help Haiti and to fight climate change and promote peace. But a recent report cited the UN with wasting 2/3rd of aid money feathering their own nests instead of tending to the needs of those they are given money to aid. But that did not stop them from being on Idol and asking America for more money.

Then there is the EPA asking us to RECYCLE all the time and yet one of their former policy administrators says that sometimes it just does not make GOOD SENSE to recycle everything, because the costs to the environment of recycling is worse than just disposing of it. Like any other government agency the EPA has to invent ways to stay relevant and thus a needed organization. They can not admit that their work is done so they need to continue to come up with pollutants and ways to battle them. So now they are on to man-made global warming and CO2 as a pollutant and let us not forget ’green energy’. Who ever would have thought the day would come when BREATHING was damaging the earth.

The ’green’ gospel

The whole ’GREEN MOVEMENT’ has become a religion in and of itself most of which is based on secular humanistic teachings and ideologies. This religion has worship and sacrifice and rewards and punishments. There are rituals to follow and creeds to recite. There are even offerings collected as last nights American Idol demonstrated.

Now I am all for helping my neighbor, but by helping I just do not want to help them stay alive in their situation. I want to see their situation change for the better, therefore it is necessary to tackle the bigger issues surrounding their lot in life. Most of the aid given to these countries is like throwing a rescue ring to a drowning man and leaving him in the water.

The founder of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation says churches should be wary of Earth Day environmentalism. The Rev. Calvin Beisner tells The Associated Press that while it is laudable to care for God’s creation, that should never become another “gospel” that diverts churches’ focus from preaching salvation in Jesus Christ. To this add a resounding AMEN!

The earth has been placed under a curse of sin and death ever since Adam disobeyed God in the garden. And until the time comes for the earth to be remade it will continue under this curse. In spite of all this there are still bright spots of hope. America and other wealthy nations are leading the way in setting an example that prosperity, and not government aid, is the best defense against environmental hazards. By helping a people out of poverty we elevate them to better care for themselves. Aiding them in poverty only adds to their helplessness. We need to give them a leg up and not simply a hand out.

To really save the earth however, we need to proclaim the gospel to every living creature. It is the power of the Gospel that is able to transform lives and make better citizens. So for earth day I say send missionaries and not money, preach the gospel of peace and not green peace, host prayer-a-thons instead of telethons and in so doing you can make a significant difference in the lives of others less fortunate than yourself. By giving them the light of life and the hope of eternity, you will have saved a soul and thus helped save the planet. Have a truly blessed Earth Day.

But those who are waiting for the Lord will have new strength; they will get wings like eagles: running, they will not be tired, and walking, they will have no weariness. Isaiah 40:31 (BBE)

Liar in Chief: Or Chief Liar

Barack Obama speaking at a campaign rally in A...

TOP 10 Lies of 2009

1. Lie: Global warming is real. It was never real except for the natural warming cycle that occurred from 1850 to 1998 when the Earth began another natural cycle, when it began to cool. The new cycle will last for several decades. This heating and cooling has more to do with the activity on the Sun then on the Earth.

2. Lie: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a danger to humans. This is the most pernicious lie that has been put forth by environmentalists and is the basis for the global warming lie. CO2 is vital to all life on Earth as it represents for all vegetation what oxygen is for all animals. To think that breathing is hazardous to your health. How can any right thinking person actually believe this?

3. Lie: The world is running out of oil. Not even close. New reserves of oil are being found on a regular basis. And this does not include the abundance of natural gas and coal which this country possesses in great quantities. There is no substitute for oil as the basis for transportation and the many other products such as plastic for which it is the basic component. Without this vital natural resource our standard of living will decrease not increase. Lets see the wind or sun power a jet liner or even a tractor trailer.

Failure to access national reserves of oil such as that in ANWR or offshore in the U.S. continental shelf is criminal. And

4. Lie: Afghanistan is critical to the war on terror. No, sorry, all the real action is in Pakistan these days and, in the days to come, in Yemen. Few NATO members want to provide forces for action there for lack of confidence in its present government and other factors.

5. Lie: The future is in “clean energy” as opposed to “dirty” coal. Wrong again. If wind or solar energy could demonstrate any practical use beyond very small projects it would attract investment, but it does not. Dependent on unreliable factors and requiring a backup source of energy such as a coal-fired or nuclear plant, large scale applications are a huge waste of money. Nuclear energy is probably the most environmentally safe alternative to oil and coal and yet it is not even considered as a viable source of energy by this current administration, and frowned upon by environmentalists in this country and yet nuclear energy is the energy of choice for other nations around the globe.

6. Lie: The U.S. must become “energy independent.” No nation on Earth is energy independent. The U.S. has failed to encourage the building of a single new refinery since the 1970s and is failing to encourage the building of nuclear plants to meet the nation’s growing need for more electricity.

7. Lie: The government can create or “save” jobs. Wrong again. The only jobs government creates are government jobs. These are essentially managerial and often exist to justify the continued existence of government agencies that actually impede job growth or significantly interfere with the free market. Besides the government does not produce anything they can only redistribute what is being produced elsewhere. And most of that redistribution stays within the confines of the government.

8. Lie: The financial crisis is not a significant threat. An economy whose annual gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to be $14 trillion cannot long survive a debt ceiling of $12.4 trillion as approved by Congress on December 24. That requires too much borrowing. Only less spending can ensure stability. Every homeowner knows you can not keep spending money you do not have and gain fiscal stability.

9. Lie: The United Nations is necessary for resolving international disputes. Historically the UN has repeatedly failed to stop conflicts since its inception after WWII. It has a long record of corruption and inaction. It’s a joke but no one is laughing.

10. Lie: President Obama tells the truth. Barack Obama’s first year in office demonstrated to his supporters, independents, and critics that he lies all the time about everything. The only promise he made that he is fulfilling is the transformation of the U.S. into a failed socialist economy.
