National Anthem Not welcome in California State House

clipped from www.onenewsnow.com

Launch into ana cappella version of the Star Spangled Banner in the California State Capitol and a group could find themselves facing Capitol Security and officers of the California Highway Patrol. And that is what happened, says Brad Dacus, president of thePacific Justice Institute, when a group of students touring the capitol, as part of the “City on a Hill” education program, spontaneously began to sing the national anthem.

He argues that “[s]uch spontaneous expression of love for…country should never, ever be stifled by government when it’s in no way creating a disturbance of any kind….”

Pacific Justice Institute sent a letter to the Chief Sergeant at Arms for the Capitol informing him that citizens have a First Amendment right to express themselves in the capitol rotunda as long as they are not being disruptive, and that any future attempt to interfere with that right will result in appropriate legal action.

Sometimes I wish that California would be hit with the “BIG ONE” and send it into Pacific Ocean. Thank God the children did not break out into a spontaneous chorus of Amazing Grace, they might have been tarred and feathered.

For this unpatriotic display on the part of the California State capital this story belongs in the Cuckoos nest for sure.

No wonder they call Cali the ‘Left Coast’ apparently the people who live out there have taken leave of their common sense.

Wisdom Wednesday: Just cause you can doesn’t mean you should

“There’s a big difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do.” – Michael Josephson

Someone may say, “I’m allowed to do anything,” but not everything is helpful. I’m allowed to do anything, but not everything encourages growth. 24 People should be concerned about others and not just about themselves. 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 (GW)

The California Supreme court recently struck down a state ban on same sex marriage, which allows same sex couples to marry for the first time in California history. This is another in a growing trend of supreme court rulings overturning state laws forbidding same sex marriages. The argument seems to be that these same sex couples want the same legal benefits of the heterosexual community. Some seem to think this only makes sense, but much like the equal pay for equal work arguments of a bygone era, this too shall bring about unexpected results that will harm both heterosexual unions as well as the same sex unions.

Much like the outrage of the equal pay crowd when many more women were seeking employment, the resulting  wage stagflation was an unexpected outcome. Instead of the women’s wages rising to the higher male pay grade the over all pay rate of all workers was reduced to match that of the lower earning women’s rates. Simple oversupply for the demand drove wages downward, not up as demanded, by the feminists lobbyists. The end result was equal pay for equal work just at a much lower level.

I foresee the same effect happening across the spectrum as more and more same sex couples tap into the “benefits pool” that once was reserved for married couples. The strain on insurance benefits, medical spousal benefits, tax breaks, and social security payouts will force the laws to be changed and could effect all “married couples” negatively. Instead of the anticipated financial windfall the same-sex couples sought to tap into, their ever increasing numbers will only force the system to change to adapt to the increased demand for benefits. The system was not set up to accommodate the demographics now being presented to it.

I can foresee a time in our not to distant future where the so-called marriage benefits will be all but eliminated. Each individual will therefore be responsible for themselves and will not qualify for spousal benefits any longer. Just because you can and want to do something, does not mean it is best for society at large to engage in such behavior.

Living for the betterment of society is what the bible teaches. Not thinking only about oneself but the overall benefit to our fellow man is what the Christian model dictates. As more and more basic Christian values are removed from our society, an even greater strain is placed upon our nations moral foundation. Without the rock solid foundation of God’s word as our societal building block, our nation, like others before us, will falter under the weight of immorality and lawlessness. The virtues that made this country great, the selflessness and self-sacrifice of former generations, has been lost to the narcissism of today.

COURTS ADDRESS GAY CIVIL RIGHTS
Legal milestones involving same-sex couples:
1986. U.S. Supreme Court upholds a Georgia law banning sodomy between consenting adults.
1993. Hawaii’s Supreme Court rules the state constitution could give gay couples the same marital rights as heterosexual couples.
1996. President Clinton signs the Defense of Marriage Act defining marriage as a “union between one man and one woman.” It says states need not recognize same-sex marriages from other states.
1998. Hawaii voters amend state constitution to allow Legislature to reserve marriage for opposite-sex couples.
2000. Vermont becomes first state to allow civil unions between same-sex partners, giving them most of the benefits of marriage.
2003. U.S. Supreme Court strikes down a Texas law barring consensual gay sex, reversing its 1986 decision. Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court rules that same-sex couples have a right to marry.
2006. New York Court of Appeals, that state’s highest court, rejects gay marriage, as does the Washington Supreme Court. New Jersey Supreme Court rules gay couples have the same rights as heterosexual couples. It lets the Legislature decide whether to allow same-sex marriage or civil unions.
2007. Maryland Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court, upholds ban on gay marriage.
May 15, 2008.: California Supreme Court strikes down a state ban on same-sex marriage.

Sexting Latest Trend Amongst Teens.

clipped from www.fox6.com
Students are using their cell phones to text crude and pornographic images of each other to their friends.
It’s called “sexting,” sending graphic images, videos and text to friends. It’s such a problem the San Diego Police Department has an entire team dedicated to sexting and internet crimes.
“We carry 60-70 cases ongoing,” said Sgt. Chuck Arnold of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Arnold points out that puppy love isn’t what it used to be. What begins as an innocent snapshot can quickly spiral.”The next picture is usually going to be on panties or bras, something like that,” explains Arnold.”They eventually go to a shot of breasts, to a shot of vaginal region, something like that. And then to where we’ve actually had full on videos of a strip tease and masturbation.”He says just about every junior high and high school in San Diego has a problem.

“It’s very big…It’s everywhere.”

Several mobile phones I could never understand why a teenager needed a cell phone to begin with, let alone one with all kinds of bells and whistles. My own personal cell phone does not take pictures nor am I able to send and receive text messages or images. I find there is absolutely no need to do any of that from a PHONE.
Our society is awash in excess. Over kill in many respects. What once was a LUXURY now seems to be a necessity in some peoples minds. I can understand the sense of security one can feel by being able to contact a son or daughter at anytime via the cell phone but WHY ON EARTH do they need one with every available option? I am not even discussing the COST of it all. Wouldn’t a simple cell phone that sends and receives calls be ENOUGH? Do our children really need to be able to send text and pictures on a PHONE?
Take it away from them parents and act like the adults you are supposed to be!

Let us Help Nancy Find her hidden bible verse

Nancy PelosiImage via Wikipedia

Some may not care if a leader of our country spouts off made-up biblical utterances but to me this just shows the dire dirth of knowledge present on capital hill. They call them misstatements but in reality they are lies plain and simple. No attempt is made by these ‘leaders’ to search out truth they just continually spout out falsehoods after falsehoods and the American people seem to just give them a pass.I am not the smartest bird in the nest but this eagle can spot a doo doo bird simply enough. No wonder they became extinct. Perhaps we should send some of these congresspersons the way of the doo doo bird into oblivion.

1abible.jpg On Earth Day, Nancy Pelosi quoted the Bible: “The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, ‘To minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.’ On this Earth Day, and every day, let us honor the earth and our future generations with a commitment to fight climate change.”
Apparently, it’s a favorite verse of hers. She has used it in official statements on global warming, the budget, Martin Luther King Day, Christmas, and why she’s a Democrat. Jim Hoft has audio chronicles.
CNS News asked other Bible scholars for the source of the quote in the Old Testament that Nancy Pelosi keeps invoking.
They can’t find it either.
Can you?
Dr. Claude Mariottini, an Old Testament scholar, noted on his blog last year and this year that no such Biblical verse exists.

We’re Having a Party! Are You Invited

Jesus said to him, “A man gave a large banquet and invited many people. When it was time for the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who were invited, ‘Come! Everything is ready now.’“Everyone asked to be excused. Luke 14:16-18a (GW)

114-10422~The-Invitation-PostersI was excited! I couldn’t wait! Finally it arrived in the mail! I got my invitation. The party was going to be in a few weeks and they wanted to give me plenty of time to make arrangements to attend because they really wanted me to be there. It felt good to actually be invited to go to the party. It was nice to be wanted. To be singled out to receive an invitation. No one else on my street got an invitation. No one else at work got this invitation. It was sent to me and to me only. It was a special invitation. I had been chosen to attend.

Perhaps you would not be as excited as I am to get an invitation. Perhaps you get invited to all kinds of affairs and this would have been just another invitation. To you it may have been just one of many but to me it was the only invitation I was to receive. I knew there would not be another one at least not this year so I made arrangements to attend. Nothing was going to stand in my way from attending this party. I made up my mind I was going. I felt special because I had one of only a few invitations to this particular party It was not exclusive but it was a party for only a few people. Friends, family and just a few people the hosts wanted to share the evening with. Continue reading “We’re Having a Party! Are You Invited”
