Economic woes
In Ohio, President Obama spoke to a crowd yesterday in a rally for his mini-stimulus. But it didn’t stop a terrible day on Wall Street. The Dow went reeling for a second day. Plus: The government reported the number of unemployment applications remains high. The U.S. jobs crisis is one of the major economic challenges cited by the Fed in its announcements this week.

My Way by Obama

“my way or the highway” approach will not produce a deal. “I don’t see a path to a deal if they don’t budge. Period,” Obama said at a press conference Monday.

For two years Obama and the democrats did things their way and completely ignored the American people now he is attempting to smear the republicans who are trying to do what WE THE PEOPLE sent them to congress to do. We the people do not wish to compromise with those in congress who set a course of ruin for this country. We stand firmly behind those congressmen who are attempting to roll back this out-of-control government. We the people demand the Government credit card be cut up. We demand the check book be balanced. We demand that the government learn to live within its means. We the people demand that our government stop spending more money then they take in and we the people REFUSE to pay more into this bloated government.

20 Federal Regulations That Can and Should be Cut Tomorrow

Obama made a proclamation that he was going to review federal regulations and cut any that were ineffecient and eliminate those that were inhibiting business growth. The Heritage Foundation offers 20 regulations that can be cut tomorrow which will have a positive effect on our economy immediately. Since mostly all Obama does is talk about doing something here are 20 concrete regulatory items that can be cut now.

What say you Mr. President?

In total, regulations now extract some $1.75 trillion a year from the economy, according to a recent report from the federal government’s own Small Business Administration.[2] Little different from taxes, regulations raise the price of almost every product and service, while also inhibiting the capital investment and job creation needed to keep the nation’s economy strong.

This regulatory tide must be reversed. Policymakers should not just prevent harmful new regulations, but must repeal costly and unnecessary rules already on the books. Such action can be undertaken by the new Congress, or by regulators themselves. In fact, President Obama recently pledged a government-wide review of rules to determine which should be “modified, streamlined, expanded, or repealed.” Below are 20 such rules that should be eliminated:

1. The Individual Health Insurance Mandate
2. The Employer Health Insurance Mandate
3. Insurer Coverage Mandates
4. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Regulations
5. Debit Card Interchange Fees (“Durbin Amendment”)
6. Proxy Access Rules
7. Credit Card Regulation
8. Phase-Out of Incandescent Light Bulbs
9. Appliance Energy Standards
10. Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) Standards
11. The EPA Endangerment Finding
12. The “Tailpipe Rule”
13. The Renewable Fuel Standard
14. The Community Reinvestment Mandates
15. Section 404 Financial Reporting Requirements (Sarbanes–Oxley)
16. Network Neutrality
17. FCC Media Ownership Rules

18. FCC Merger Review Authority

19. Dairy Price Controls
20. Sugar Protectionism

Liberal Loons Leave Wake of Terror as Media Blames the “Right”

Liberals avoid the truth like the plague. To a liberal their ideology is first in any discussion, truth be damned. This is just a partial list of lefty loons who wrecked havoc on innocent victims while their sinister accomplices in the liberal press blamed the “right”. The glaring truth of all this violence is most of it is carried out by radical leftists and not those who love God and country. Can it be said yet that liberalism kills? Figuratively and literally.

I agree with President Obama. When it comes to politicizing random violence, he and his supporters have been “far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than” they do. Recognition is the first step toward reconciliation. It’s time to recognize the poisonous pervasiveness of the Blame Righty meme.

For the past two years, Democratic officials, liberal activists and journalists have jumped to libelous conclusions about individual shooting sprees committed by mentally unstable loners with incoherent delusions all over the ideological map. The White House now pledges to swear off “pointing fingers or assigning blame.” Alas, the Obama administration’s political and media foot soldiers have proved themselves incapable of such restraint.

In April 2009, a disgruntled, unemployed loser shot and killed three Pittsburgh police officers in a horrifying bloodbath. The gunman, Richard Poplawski, was a dropout from the Marines who threw a food tray at a drill sergeant and had beaten his girlfriend. Was this deranged shooter who pulled the trigger to blame? Nope.

Despite evidence that Poplawski’s homicidal, racist tendencies manifested themselves years before Obama took office, lefty publications asserted that the real culprit of the spree was the “heated, apocalyptic rhetoric of the anti-Obama forces” (according to mainstream liberal Atlantic Monthly pundit Andrew Sullivan), along with Fox News and Glenn Beck (according to mainstream liberal journalist Steve Benen of the Washington Monthly online).

That same month, a sick, evil man named Jiverly Voong ambushed an immigration center in Binghamton, N.Y. Recently fired from his job, Voong murdered 13 people, critically wounded four others and then committed suicide. The instant psychologists of the left knew nothing about the disgruntled man of Vietnamese descent and undetermined political affiliation.

But within hours of the shooting, liberal mega-website Huffington Post commenters had overwhelmingly convicted GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, the National Rifle Association, Fox News, Lou Dobbs and yours truly. Liberal radio host Alan Colmes pointed his finger at the “huge anti-immigrant backlash in this country” — never mind that tens of millions of legal immigrants and naturalized citizens have coped with hardship, overcome racism and embraced assimilation without going bloody bonkers.

In May 2010, liberal New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg tried to preemptively pin the Times Square bombing attempt on “someone with a political agenda that doesn’t like the health care bill or something.” The culprit was unrepentant Muslim jihadist Faisal Shahzad.

President Obama wisely counseled the nation this week at the Tucson massacre memorial that “bad things happen, and we must guard against simple explanations in the aftermath.” But as the progressive left’s smear-stained recent history shows, criminalizing conservatism is a hard habit to break.

President Returning to Childhood Muslim Faith?

I have long contended that Obama was a Muslim sympathizer but perhaps it goes deeper. Could it be that our current President is returning to his childhood faith? Remember he did go to a Muslim school. So congratulations for electing the first undocumented Muslim leader Barrack Hussein Obama.

President Obama will host an iftar — the special evening meal
observed during Ramadan — on Friday night in the White House dining
room.

Obama participated in a similar gathering last year (shown here).

Celebrations
like iftar dinners “remind us of the principles that we hold in common,
and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the
dignity of all human beings,” Obama wrote in a statement Wednesday.

“Ramadan
is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial
equality … a reminder that Islam has always been part of America and
that American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our
country.”
