Trump Campaign Lawsuit Raises Red Flags in Pennsylvania

On Monday, the campaign to reelect President Donald Trump filed a mammoth lawsuit accusing Pennsylvania Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar and county elections boards throughout the state of violating the U.S. Constitution by unilaterally revising the law in a manner that deprives some voters of their rights to a free and fair election. “In a rush to count mail ballots and ensure Democrat Joe Biden is elected, Pennsylvania has created an illegal two-tiered voting system for the 2020 General Election, devaluing in-person votes,” the lawsuit alleges. “For voters that appeared at the polls, those citizens were required to sign voter registrations, have those signatures checked against voter rolls, vote in a polling place monitored by statutorily-authorized poll observers, and have their votes counted in a transparent and verifiable open and observed manner. By contrast, due to the arbitrary, unauthorized, and standardless actions of the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Kathy Boockvar, nearly 2.65 million votes were cast through a ‘mail-in’ process that lacked all of the hallmarks of transparency and verifiability that were present for in-person voters,” the suit claims. The Trump campaign and two Pennsylvania voters allege that Boockvar “refused to require adequate verification of the voter’s identity. Rather than require votes to be received on the day of election, the Secretary permitted ballots received up to three days after the election to be counted without any evidence of timely mailing, such as a postmark. Finally, contrary to the in-person voting that is open and transparent to the parties and the candidates, Defendants permitted the review and counting of mail-in ballots largely in secret with no monitoring.” “This two-track election system not only violates Plaintiffs’ rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution but also violates the structure of the Constitution that elections in the States must be carried out as directed by their respective legislatures,” the lawsuit claims.

Ken Starr: Pennsylvania Ballot Extension ‘Constitutional Travesty’ | Newsmax.com

The disputed Pennsylvania ballot extension forced by state courts over the legislature is a “constitutional travesty,” according to famed prosecutor Ken Starr. “What happened in Pennsylvania over these recent weeks is a constitutional travesty,” Starr told Fox News’ “Life, Liberty & Levin.” “Gov. [Tom] Wolf tries to get his reforms, his vision, as he was entitled to do, through the legislature of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He failed. “He then goes to the state Supreme Court, which by a divided vote, accepted the substance of what Gov. Wolf was doing, and then added thereon nooks and crannies as well.”

This Week’s DoDo Bird Award Winner is: I (heart) boobies Bracelets

This whole story flew over the cuckoo’s nest. First we have the designer of the I (heart) boobies bracelet being marketed to teenaged girls. Wasn’t the pink bracelets good enough? And then to add insult to injury we have this lawsuit against the school district who overreacted by suspending the girls. But if the suspension was an over reaction what can we say about the lawsuit? COME ON PEOPLE use some common sense. Didn’t anyone stop to think that a young teenage girl wearing a bracelet that says I (heart) boobies wouldn’t cause a stir? So for all those involved in this STUPID marketing endeavor, for the school officials who over reacted, and for the ACLU stupid lawsuit this incident wins this week’s DoDo Bird award handsdown

(AP) – A free-speech lawsuit is being filed against a Pennsylvania school district that bans the popular “I (heart) boobies” bracelets.

The American Civil Liberties Union says the Easton Area School District ban violates students’ First Amendment rights.

The suit filed Monday says two middle school students received in-school suspensions last month for wearing bracelets that say, “I (Heart) Boobies. Keep a Breast.” The bracelets are sold by a nonprofit to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer organizations.

School officials call the rubber jewelry distracting and demeaning.

The ACLU says the bracelets are perhaps irreverent, but not indecent.

School districts across the country have run into similar disputes.

Chinese Set to Mass Produce ECO-Friendly Vehicle

China has announced they are ready to mass produce an Eco-friendly vehicle to the world market as soon as certain Environmental issues are resolved. According to one report environmentalists are a little concerned over the amount of CO2 emissions from this new vehicle.

The internal combustion engine’s only emissions are H2O and CO2 yet the environmentalists feel the CO2 levels are too high to qualify as a truly carbon neutral vehicle. However they state it certainly is a move in the right direction.

Although not entirely carbon fuel free the engine surely out performs other internal combustion engines in its fuel efficiency. China expects to iron out the environmental issues in time to release the new models by late Spring 2009.

In other news a mid-Pennsylvania manufacturer has been working feverishly on their own bio-fuel eco-friendly vehicle. Using technology from Pennsylvania’s rich agricultural heritage, ABC manufacturing has been able to mass produce a fuel efficient mass transit vehicle that should meet stricter environmental standards currently under consideration in Congress. Representatives of the company expect good consumer acceptance of their offering. Priced thousands less than GM, FORD or Chrysler Hybrids, ABC manufacturing hopes to cash in on the economy car market with their latest offering.

GROUNDHOG DAY

Insight from the Journey across the Sky

2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (GW)
Whoever is a believer in Christ is a new creation. The old way of living has disappeared. A new way of living has come into existence. God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ, and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships. In other words, God was using Christ to restore his relationship with humanity. He didn’t hold people’s faults against them, and he has given us this message of restored relationships to tell others.

In the Harold Ramis film “Groundhog Day”, TV weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is forced to cover the “Groundhog Day” ceremonies in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, for the fifth year in a row. It is an assignment he truly despises, but this year something truly bizarre happens: When he awakens the next morning, eager to leave, he discovers it’s “Groundhog Day” all over again.

When the same thing happens the next morning, he thinks he’s going insane and wreaks havoc throughout the town. More mornings pass, all of them “Groundhog Day”, and with each, Phil grows angrier. Desperate to escape, Phil attempts suicide, but yet another “Groundhog Day” dawns.

As Phil starts realizing that his exploits are not making time march on any quicker, he begins to change his behavior.  By observing life around him, Phil becomes aware of the needs of others and along the way learns more about himself than he ever thought possible.

Although a lighthearted film, “Groundhog Day” offers the viewer opportunities to look deeper into the meaning of life. Punxsutawney Phil, not the groundhog, has become trapped in a prison of his own making. After four trips to this tiny, western Pennsylvania town, Phil has had enough. He feels that his talents could be better utilized in a larger more prestigious station or network. Instead he is stuck in a tiny station, in a tiny market, covering a tiny animal, coming out of a tiny hole in the ground. By diminishing himself through the belittlement of others and his surroundings, Phil gets to relive his worst nightmare-“Groundhog Day”.  Phil Connor’s life became what he disliked the most.

Imagine having to live the worst day of your life over and over and over again. What if no matter what you did you could not change the outcome of that day. How would you handle it?

Romans 7:24 (BBE)

How unhappy am I! who will make me free from the body of this death?

To those who deal with emotional scars and the ravishes of sin, perhaps you can see yourself in Phil Conners. Although trapped in a time warp, Phil was making progress.
