Never Ask a Ground Hog or Al Gore to Predict the Weather

“In the evening you say that the weather will be fine because the sky is red. And in the morning you say that there will be a storm today because the sky is red and overcast. You can forecast the weather by judging the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. Matt 16:2-3 (GW)

Punxsutawney Phil Weather Prognosticator

Yesterday the world’s most famous four-legged weather forecaster, Punxsutawney Phil, predicted an early spring. Phil’s handlers told Groundhog Day revelers at Gobbler’s Knob, a tiny hill in Punxsutawney, Pa., that the groundhog had not seen his shadow, meaning winter will end within six weeks, according to tradition.

Meanwhile the nation was digging out from record snowfalls and fighting record low temperatures, caused by a recent winter storm.

Paul Kocin, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Washington, D.C., said the storm compares to some of the greatest ever largely because of its timing. He estimated 50 million people were affected.

The fearsome storm spread a smothering shroud of white over nearly half the nation, snarling transportation from Oklahoma to New England, burying parts of the Midwest under 2 feet of snow and laying down dangerously heavy ice in the Northeast.

The storm that resulted from two clashing air masses was extraordinarily rare for its size and ferocious strength. The storm derived its power from the collision of cold air sweeping down from Canada and warm, moist air coming up from the south.

Louis Uccellini, director of the government’s National Centers for Environmental Prediction, said the storm also drew strength from the La Nina (la NEEN’-ya) condition affecting the tropical Pacific Ocean.
La Nina is a periodic cooling of the surface temperatures of the tropical Pacific Ocean, the opposite of the better-known El Nino (el NEEN’-yoh) warming. Both can have significant impacts on weather around the world by changing the movement of winds and high and low pressure systems.

“A storm that produces a swath of 20-inch snow is really something we’d see once every 50 years maybe,” National Weather Service meteorologist Thomas Spriggs said.
It’s Global Warming Don’t You Know
Record-setting snow and cold afflicting much of the nation in recent weeks didn’t deter Al Gore from making dire warnings about global warming however.

The former Vice President on Monday January 31st responded to Fox News Channel host Bill OReilly’s on-air question last week: “Why has southern New York turned into the tundra?”
“I appreciate the question,” Gore wrote on his website.
“As it turns out, the scientific community has been addressing this particular question for some time now and they say that increased heavy snowfalls are completely consistent with what they have been predicting as a consequence of man-made global warming.”

Gore then quoted an article by Clarence Page in the Chicago Tribune in early 2010: “In fact, scientists have been warning for at least two decades that global warming could make snowstorms more severe. Snow has two simple ingredients: cold and moisture. Warmer air collects moisture like a sponge until it hits a patch of cold air. When temperatures dip below freezing, a lot of moisture creates a lot of snow.

“A rise in global temperature can create all sorts of havoc, ranging from hotter dry spells to colder winters, along with increasingly violent storms, flooding, forest fires and loss of endangered species.”
In other words, if there is record snow falls it is global warming, lack of snow during the winter is also a result of global warming, record droughts or record rainfall all are results of global warming. So whether you freeze or burn it is all a result of global warming. No matter what the weather forecast is for tomorrow you know it will be a result of global warming.

In the movie “Groundhog Day,” Bill Murray plays weatherman Phil Connors doomed to relive Groundhog day, over and over, until he achieves some sort of spiritual discovery.

Whether Phil sees his shadow or not the forecast is always the same six weeks until spring.

“You want a prediction about the weather? You’re asking the wrong Phil,” Bill Murray’s character says in the movie “Groundhog Day.” He continues, “I’ll give you a winter prediction: It’s gonna be cold, it’s gonna be gray, and it’s gonna last you for the rest of your life.” Al Gore would say it is hot and getting hotter and it will last you the rest of your life.

Al Gore, Punxy Phil, the global warming crowd all continue to give the same forecast day after day. Now all they need to do is come up with a theme song to play every morning at 6 AM.

Perhaps we would do better by asking the creator of the weather what tomorrow’s forecast will be?
As long as the earth exists, planting and harvesting, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never stop.” Gen 8:22 (GW)
And that is this week’s tail feather.

But those who are waiting for the Lord will have new strength; they will get wings like eagles: running, they will not be tired, and walking, they will have no weariness. Isaiah 40:31Open Link in New Window (BBE)

Liar in Chief: Or Chief Liar

TOP 10 Lies of 2009

1. Lie: Global warming is real. It was never real except for the natural warming cycle that occurred from 1850 to 1998 when the Earth began another natural cycle, when it began to cool. The new cycle will last for several decades. This heating and cooling has more to do with the activity on the Sun then on the Earth.

2. Lie: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a danger to humans. This is the most pernicious lie that has been put forth by environmentalists and is the basis for the global warming lie. CO2 is vital to all life on Earth as it represents for all vegetation what oxygen is for all animals. To think that breathing is hazardous to your health. How can any right thinking person actually believe this?

3. Lie: The world is running out of oil. Not even close. New reserves of oil are being found on a regular basis. And this does not include the abundance of natural gas and coal which this country possesses in great quantities. There is no substitute for oil as the basis for transportation and the many other products such as plastic for which it is the basic component. Without this vital natural resource our standard of living will decrease not increase. Lets see the wind or sun power a jet liner or even a tractor trailer.

Failure to access national reserves of oil such as that in ANWR or offshore in the U.S. continental shelf is criminal. And

4. Lie: Afghanistan is critical to the war on terror. No, sorry, all the real action is in Pakistan these days and, in the days to come, in Yemen. Few NATO members want to provide forces for action there for lack of confidence in its present government and other factors.

5. Lie: The future is in “clean energy” as opposed to “dirty” coal. Wrong again. If wind or solar energy could demonstrate any practical use beyond very small projects it would attract investment, but it does not. Dependent on unreliable factors and requiring a backup source of energy such as a coal-fired or nuclear plant, large scale applications are a huge waste of money. Nuclear energy is probably the most environmentally safe alternative to oil and coal and yet it is not even considered as a viable source of energy by this current administration, and frowned upon by environmentalists in this country and yet nuclear energy is the energy of choice for other nations around the globe.

6. Lie: The U.S. must become “energy independent.” No nation on Earth is energy independent. The U.S. has failed to encourage the building of a single new refinery since the 1970s and is failing to encourage the building of nuclear plants to meet the nation’s growing need for more electricity.

7. Lie: The government can create or “save” jobs. Wrong again. The only jobs government creates are government jobs. These are essentially managerial and often exist to justify the continued existence of government agencies that actually impede job growth or significantly interfere with the free market. Besides the government does not produce anything they can only redistribute what is being produced elsewhere. And most of that redistribution stays within the confines of the government.

8. Lie: The financial crisis is not a significant threat. An economy whose annual gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to be $14 trillion cannot long survive a debt ceiling of $12.4 trillion as approved by Congress on December 24. That requires too much borrowing. Only less spending can ensure stability. Every homeowner knows you can not keep spending money you do not have and gain fiscal stability.

9. Lie: The United Nations is necessary for resolving international disputes. Historically the UN has repeatedly failed to stop conflicts since its inception after WWII. It has a long record of corruption and inaction. It’s a joke but no one is laughing.

10. Lie: President Obama tells the truth. Barack Obama’s first year in office demonstrated to his supporters, independents, and critics that he lies all the time about everything. The only promise he made that he is fulfilling is the transformation of the U.S. into a failed socialist economy.

Truth is Fast Becoming an Endangered Species

Truth and the global warming debate
Quicker than the arctic ice can melt is the disappearance of truth from planet earth.

These people have exchanged God’s truth for a lie. So they have become ungodly and serve what is created rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen!

Global Warming- Some Random Thoughts by Stanley Hasegawa

I have been an global warming detractor for many years now. All this hype and false information being bantered about as truth needs to be dealt with with as much fervency as the  proponents of the “Global warming’ religion. Stanley Hasegawa has written an insightful article looking into some of the hype associated with the global warming alarmist’s propaganda.

Disappearing arctic ice threatens the existence of polar bears. I have two thoughts on this. First, polar bears have to deal with disappearing arctic ice every single year:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6j8SGs_gnFk

Second, contrary to expectations, arctic sea ice extent increased in 2008 over 2007. Now one year does not constitute a trend. However, 2009 is also shaping up to be another exception to the continuing rapid shrinking of arctic ice. So far in 2009, Canada had a record late spring and a cool summer:
http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/seaice_extent.htm

In addition, Antarctic sea ice extent has been increasing in recent years as well.

In any case, melting sea ice does not contribute to the threat of rising sea levels. What does contribute to rising sea levels is melting of ice that exists on land. Most land-based ice exists on Antarctica and to a lesser extent on Greenland. Global warming advocates claim that the ice on Antarctica is melting and contributing to rising ocean levels. This is not exactly true. There is melting of ice on western Antarctica, but the increase in ice on eastern Antarctica more than makes up for this: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25349683-601,00.html

Global warming advocates also claim that ice in Greenland is melting and contributing to rising ocean levels. They claim that glacial ice from Greenland is entering the sea in increasing amounts. Well maybe, but then again:

Here are some scriptures to keep in mind.

God does want us to take care of the earth and not pollute it:

“The LORD God took the man and placed him in the orchard in Eden to care for it and to maintain it.” (Genesis 2:15)

Global warming predicts a catastrophic future for the earth as we know it. However, God promises that the normal rhythms of life will never stop until he causes the earth as we know it to cease to exist:

“And the LORD smelled the soothing aroma and said to himself, ‘I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, even though the inclination of their minds is evil from childhood on. I will never again destroy everything that lives, as I have just done.

‘While the earth continues to exist, planting time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.'” (Genesis 8:21-22)

Here again we see that the normal rhythms of life will continue on until the end, when Jesus Christ returns:

“But as for that day and hour no one knows it not even the angels in heaven except the Father alone. For just like the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. For in those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark. And they knew nothing until the flood came and took them all away. It will be the same at the coming of the Son of Man.” (Genesis 24:36-39)

That mankind is physically abusing the earth is only part a larger picture; only one symptom of a more fundamental issue:

“For I consider that our present sufferings cannot even be compared to the glory that will be revealed to us. For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility not willingly but because of God who subjected it in hope 8:21 that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children. 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now.” (Romans 8:18-22)

I am richly blessed in my marriage. I have two grown children. I am semi-retired. I have been a computer programmer, systems analyst, househusband and homeschool teacher. I love to walk, talk and eat, and write short articles about devoting our lives to Jesus.

Remember the word of God tells us to TEST ALL SPIRITS and see if they are of God. DO not believe everything that comes along especially when there is a PRICE TAG attached to it. Those who are propagating Global warming are seeking to profit from the hysteria they are causing. IF we believe God’s word then we know all things will continue as they have been until GOD decides to pull the plug on humankind. So therefore the thing we should be most concerned about is not Global warming but GLOBAL SIN. If we confess our sins HE is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all our unrighteous acts. God is able to keep us against any opposition. Because God created the heavens and the earth I believe God is able to keep things together until He decides enough is enough. What say you?

Global Cooling Trend Continues-CO2 Levels Unchanged

Even without CAP AND TRADE planet earth seems to be on a cooling trend. Since 1998 the temperatures on planet earth have been cooling. Even the ECO Terrorists had to change their terminology from GLOBAL warming to climate change. Now then I ask any thinking person to pause for just a moment and ask this one simple question. If the planet has been cooling for the last 10 years while carbon dioxide emissions have not been reduced by any significant amount, is it therefore reasonable to conclude that CO2 has absolutely nothing to do with GLOBAL WARMING? In fact the biggest contributing factor to global warming is, you guessed it, THE SUN!

Due to the unusually cool and wet conditions in June…here are some interesting facts to note:

  • This June is tied for the 8th coolest on record. The average temperature was 67.5. (That’s) 3.7 degrees below normal…which also occurred in 1897.
  • This was the coolest June since 1958…when the average temperature as 67.2 degrees.
  • Below average temperatures occurred on 23 out of 30 days this June…or 75 percent of the month
Central Park has not hit 90 degrees in the month of June this year. The last time this occurred was back in 1996.
Central Park has not hit 85 degrees in the month of June this year. The last time this occurred was back in 1916. This has only occurred two other times…1903 and 1886.
The low temperature dipped below 60 degrees eleven times in the month of June. The last time this occurred was in 2003 when it occurred seventeen times.

  • It was the second wettest June on record with 10.06 inches of rain. The wettest June on record is 2003 with 10.27 inches.
