Census of Census Finds Fraud

I for one am not surprised. Everything this current administration touches is corrupted. Does anyone actually believe that the actual count of the 2010 census is not going to show more democrats then republicans in every municipality across the country. In fact I would not be surprised if the census counts dead people and imaginary ones.

If we the people called for a full audit of the totality of the federal government I think we would be shocked and dismayed at all the waste, fraud and abuse that is going on.

For this program and all the others currently being handled by the bumbler in chief I am proud to award the 2010 census the DODO bird award. Eagle Out!

CensusA congressional analyst says the findings of a new audit of the U.S. Census Bureau illustrate why the government cannot be trusted to stimulate the economy.

An audit performed by federal investigators finds that the U.S. Census Bureau wasted millions of dollars in preparation for the 2010 census.  Thousands of temporary employees either picked up $300 checks without working one day or overbilled for travel costs. For example, 23 temporary census employees were paid for car mileage costs at 55 cents a mile, even though the number of miles they reported driving per hour exceeded the total number of hours they actually worked.

Green Job Hoax: American “Green” Funding Overseas Business

Another example of why WE THE PEOPLE need to force the government out of the FREE MARKET. No matter where you look, every time the government sticks their fingers into the marketplace they make it worse and not better. The only thing the government is good at is wasting our HARD EARNED money.

This report states that is it important to invest in foreign companies so why not let PRIVATE businesses invest in GREEN JOBS if they are proven to be a lucrative endeavor. FORCING TAXPAYERS to give money to foreign businesses to BOAST their bottom lines is UN-AMERICAN.

It’s the classic Washington approach to the economy. When times are good, politicians in both parties spend excessively. When times are bad? They spend uncontrollably.

“Green Jobs.”

According to a series of new reports, billions of dollars in “stimulus” money that was supposed to go toward creating “Green Jobs” here in America instead went to foreign-owned companies – who “created or saved” the vast majority of their jobs overseas. Obviously there is nothing wrong with America investing in foreign businesses, as protectionism is a recipe for disaster.

According to an ABC News report, though, almost $2 billion in “stimulus” funding has been spent so far on wind power, and yet 80% of that money has gone to foreign-owned companies.

“Most of the jobs are going overseas,” researcher Russ Choma told ABC. “According to our estimates, about 6,000 jobs have been created overseas, and maybe a couple hundred have been created in the U.S.”

Snow Days

Random Ramblings from the Resident Raptor
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Psalms 51:7-12 (NKJV)

When I was younger I used to enjoy those occasional snow days that would halt regularly scheduled activities, especially school. Waking up in the morning and hearing the radio announce the name of our school as one of the districts to be closed due to a major snow storm was exhilarating. My brother and sister and I would bundle up in our winter gear and grab the sleds out of the garage and head on outside to make tracks in the freshly fallen snow. Hours would pass before we grew tired of playing in the snow. We would make snow forts, snowmen, toss snowballs at each other, sled down the back hill into the neighbors yard, roll around in the snow and even make snow angels. Oh the fun we had as kids playing in the snow.

This week the northeast got blanketed in over 2 feet of snow, and now that I am no longer a school kid snow days are not quite as much fun as they once where. Having a snow day from work is not the same as having a snow day from school, primarily because there is a financial cost attached to the day off. The joy of a snow day has been replaced with the realization that someone has to shovel all that snow out of the driveway and off the sidewalks to make it possible to travel away from home. I have no desire today to make snowmen, or sled down a hill, or even make snow angels, the fact is I do not particularly like snow at all. It does look pretty hanging off the trees and blanketing the countryside, but it surely is no fun to have to shovel all that white stuff off the driveway and maneuver around on snow covered roadways.

It is amazing how our perspective changes as we age. What once was an event we looked forward too has turned into an event we could for the most part live without. I know God in His infinite wisdom felt the need to send snow in the winter, but I think I would much prefer to skip it altogether. If I could control the weather I think it would be a nice warm sunny spring day all year round. I know that is not practical in the northeast but hey I can dream can’t I?

Why this change of perspective when it comes to snow days? What causes one to change one’s opinion of a life event so markedly? Has our life’s situation changed so much that we no longer view the same event in the same way? When I was a child a snow day meant a day off from something that was less appealing — school, but as I got older that same snow day became the object of my dislike because I no longer associated the arrival of snow as a welcome diversion but rather as toilsome and inconvenient. The joy of those bygone snow days has been erased.

The snow that was a joy and delight in my childhood has become a minor inconvenience today. What once brought hours of joy and endless possibilities has today become a nuisance. Perhaps it would do me good to try to remember the joy of my childhood during these Northeast snow days. Perhaps I should try to recapture some of the thrill of those bygone days. Perhaps I should try to see a snow day as a welcomed diversion from normal day to day life.

King David likened snow to his being washed of his sin. He had lost the joy that came along with living because of his transgressions against God. He knew daily that he had messed up and wanted to recapture the joy that came along with being cleansed and forgiven. Guilt and shame steals a great deal of joy from our lives. So does regret. To a child being corrected by our parents ranked high on the list of dislikes. Being disciplined was not something we loved as a child, actually it is not something we enjoy as adults either. Cold Weather Stalls Windpower in Minnesota

Another example of what happens when the ALL KNOWING Government decides they have a better idea. All 20 of the newly installed wind-turbines which were supposed to help reduce fossil fuel energy production has failed to produce any electricity. Sounds like the government full of hot air and accomplishing absolutely nothing but wasting taxpayer money.

So this weeks DODO bird award goes to the officials of Minnesota who actually thought up this lame brain idea. This one certainly has flown over the Cuckoo’s nest.

Inspecting a windmill in Chaska, Minn. The blades on some in the area have been stationary.

Turbines, more than 100 feet tall, were installed last year in 11 Minnesota cities to provide power, and also to serve as educational symbols in a state that has mandated that a quarter of its electricity come from renewable resources by 2025.

One problem, though: The windmills, supposed to go online this winter, mostly just sat still, people in cities like North St. Paul and Chaska said, rarely if ever budging. Residents took note. Schoolchildren asked questions. Complaints accumulated.

No one knows for sure why these turbines do not. Officials believe there may be several reasons, but weather is the focus of much speculation. It is not as though turbines cannot function in cold places; thousands of them work perfectly well throughout Minnesota and the Midwest, the American Wind Energy Association is quick to note.

Where Your Tax Dollars Really Go

We the people need to take stock of what is happening to our country. As the government and government workers increase the PRIVATE SECTOR (WE THE PEOPLE) get saddled with the bill. None of these PUBLIC EMPLOYEES produce one dollar towards the financial stability of this country. Each and everyone of these employees are being paid by YOU AND I. You think Obama would think to cut the BUDGET DEFICITS by actually CUTTING the NUMBER of PUBLIC SECTOR JOBS? NAW!!! he would rather raise our taxes and continue to soak us while paying all these paper pushers in the public sector job market.

Americans often wonder where all our tax money goes. Well, a good chunk finances a steadily growing government work force. State and local governments spent $1.1 trillion on employee wages and benefits in 2008. That’s half of what those governments spent overall.

Also, while the private-sector job market remains bleak, there are more civil service jobs than ever. The U.S. Labor Department projects wage and salary employment in state and local governments will increase 8 percent by 2018.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that state and local government workers earn almost $40 per hour in wages, salaries and benefits. That’s more than 25 percent higher than the combined compensation of the average private-sector job ($27 per hour).

Public-sector employees have more paid leave and receive more than twice the health insurance benefits of private-sector employees. And government employees are famously more secure.
