National Anthem Not welcome in California State House

clipped from www.onenewsnow.com

Launch into ana cappella version of the Star Spangled Banner in the California State Capitol and a group could find themselves facing Capitol Security and officers of the California Highway Patrol. And that is what happened, says Brad Dacus, president of thePacific Justice Institute, when a group of students touring the capitol, as part of the “City on a Hill” education program, spontaneously began to sing the national anthem.

He argues that “[s]uch spontaneous expression of love for…country should never, ever be stifled by government when it’s in no way creating a disturbance of any kind….”

Pacific Justice Institute sent a letter to the Chief Sergeant at Arms for the Capitol informing him that citizens have a First Amendment right to express themselves in the capitol rotunda as long as they are not being disruptive, and that any future attempt to interfere with that right will result in appropriate legal action.

Sometimes I wish that California would be hit with the “BIG ONE” and send it into Pacific Ocean. Thank God the children did not break out into a spontaneous chorus of Amazing Grace, they might have been tarred and feathered.

For this unpatriotic display on the part of the California State capital this story belongs in the Cuckoos nest for sure.

No wonder they call Cali the ‘Left Coast’ apparently the people who live out there have taken leave of their common sense.

Lie Detector

Lk 16:29-31 (NKJV) Abraham said to him, ’They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ’No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 But he said to him, ’If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ “

Patent_4333084A polygraph (commonly referred to as a lie detector) is an instrument that measures and records several physiological responses such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration and skin conductivity while the subject is asked and answers a series of questions. The polygraph measures physiological changes caused by the Sympathetic Nervous System during questioning. Within the Federal Government, a polygraph examination is also referred to as a psycho-physiological detection of deception (PDD) examination.

The idea that lying produces physical side-effects has long been claimed. In West Africa persons suspected of a crime were made to pass a bird’s egg to one another.[citation needed] If a person broke the egg, then he or she was considered guilty, based on the idea that their nervousness was to blame. In Ancient China the suspect held a handful of rice in his or her mouth during a prosecutor’s speech.[citation needed] Since salivation was believed to cease at times of emotional anxiety, the person was considered guilty if by the end of that speech the rice remained dry. The origins of the modern polygraph date to 1913, when William Moulton Marston, a psychology student at Harvard University, used the systolic blood-pressure test as a method of lie detection. He wrote a second paper on the concept in 1915, when finishing his undergraduate studies. He entered Harvard Law School and graduated in 1918, re-publishing his earlier work in 1917.[1] A more complex device recording both blood-pressure and galvanic skin response was invented by Dr. John A. Larson of the University of California and first applied in law enforcement work by the Berkeley Police Department under its nationally renowned police chief August Vollmer. The first time the term “polygraph” was used was in 1908 by James MacKenzie in his invention the “ink polygraph,” which was used for medical reasons. Marston nevertheless remained the device’s primary advocate, endlessly lobbying for its use in the courts. In 1938 he published a book, The Lie Detector Test, wherein he documented the theory and use of the device.[2] Nevertheless he was not above a little faked publicity, and in 1938 appeared in advertising by the Gillette company claiming that the polygraph showed Gillette razors were better than the competition.[3] [4] [5]

Although unapproved for court use the lie detector may have been helpful in determining truth from error in some cases. There is no scientific evidence detailing the accuracy or inaccuracy of this method of obtaining the truth. In court cases as well as life there is a need to find the truth. What really happened and how. Because it is hard to tell if a person is lying or telling the truth a method was developed to try to tap into the subconscious reactions of an individual who is not being truthful. These so called involuntary bodily reactions are then monitored with a polygraph machine to indicate when a falsehood is most likely occurring. Continue reading “Lie Detector”

And nothing unclean may come into it, or anyone whose works are cursed or false; but only those whose names are in the Lamb’s book of life. Revelation 21:27 (BBE)

Passports: They say you can not travel abroad without one because they are checked at the borders of each country upon entry. If you do not have your passport in order, you can be detained at the border crossing or refused entry into the country.

I recently traveled into Canada when visiting Niagara Falls. I had not gotten around to getting a passport and was the designated driver of a van full of family and friends. They all had their passports and birth certificates and I, sitting in the drivers seat, had none. I had not planned on leaving the country because I love the United States and find all its natural beauty to be more than one life time can explore. However, I was being outnumbered to go to the other side of the falls. Secretly, if truth be told, I had planned all along to cross into the Canadian side to view the Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls from the vantage point of the Canadian side. The view from Canada was absolutely breathtaking!

The only way you could get over to the other side was to cross one of the two bridges connecting the American side to the Canadian side. We chose the last day of our trip to cross the border into Canada to visit.

Our van pulled up to the border crossing and the attendant asked to see all our papers and they were passed forward and handed out the driver’s side window to the border guard who checked them and then asked me where mine was. I simply told her I had not had time to get a passport before leaving for the trip and I was the designated driver. I gave her a silly stupid smile and she asked how long we would be in the country and I told her we were only crossing to see the falls from their side and would be leaving shortly thereafter to head for home.

We were allowed to proceed across the border and spent a few hours in Canada enjoying the beauty of the falls. To make a long story short, the crossing back into America was also uneventful and I did not have to produce a Passport in order to travel between the two countries.

I am sure having a car load of children and responsible adults all having valid passports helped my situation but the fact still remained I had no passport to cross the border, yet I did.

Although a passport was not required on that trip across the border I would not want to try that alone without the benefit of others who are legally documented. I am sure had I approached the border crossing alone without papers, I would have been turned away at the border and told to remain on the American side.

There are some places you can not travel without proper documentation. Secure areas of the capital and within the Federal Reserve bank and perhaps some science laboratories. There are areas that are off limits to those who do not possess proper clearances and credentials.

So it is with heaven. Only those who have the proper passports will be allowed to enter into that Kingdom. Only those whose names are found written in the admission book will be allowed access through the pearly gates. Only those who accept the proper identification with Jesus will be allowed to walk onto the streets of gold.

If Jesus is sitting in the driver’s seat you will have no problems crossing over to that country, if however you have delegated him to a passenger in your car you may find yourself standing outside the gate. Jesus needs to be foremost in your life, in the front seat, in first place, and not an after thought.

Passports are required for foreign travel and having your name written in the Lamb’s book of life is required for heavenly travel. Do you have your passport?

But those who are waiting for the Lord will have new strength; they will get wings like eagles: running, they will not be tired, and walking, they will have no weariness. Isaiah 40:31 (BBE)

Disrespect not very becoming

“A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the Lord of hosts Mal 1:6 (NKJV)

Pay everyone whatever you owe them. If you owe taxes, pay them. If you owe tolls, pay them. If you owe someone respect, respect that person. If you owe someone honor, honor that person. Romans 13:7 (GW)

I’m sure you’ve seen an insect such as a fly struggling desperately to escape to the outside world through a closed window. He never gives up. His frenzied effort would be almost funny if it weren’t a life and death struggle. He backs off. flies into the glass head on, Crashes. backs off, flies into the glass head on again, and again, and again. He totally exhausts himself and drops dead on the windowsill. Little did he know he was doomed from the start.

Human nature is much like that common housefly. We have a tendency to want to rage against God constantly, while our lives are spinning out of control. We continue to raise our fists toward heaven and dare God to make His presence known, while not having a clue as to what a powerful force we are dealing with. I mean would you purposely enter into a lion’s cage and pick a fight with a hungry lion and have no protection from when that lion decides to attack? I mean if that lion wanted too, just one gulp would be all it would take to end your battle against him.

Knowing the nature of a lion, we are not quick to pick a fight with one. I guess we reason because God has not been quick to show retaliation we can hurl insults at Him unabated. Because God chooses to be long suffering toward insolent people he is much maligned. We stand and shake our fists at Him believing he is either not there, asleep at the wheel, non-caring or some other foolish notion.

Let’s take a look at a few of these arguments. If God does not exist then what is the use of shaking your fist at him? Is it because your own life is so out of control you have to blame someone or something for it? So you pick a non-existent deity to blame for your failures? If not, you really look foolish blaming someone who does not exist for your problems. Your problems obviously would be a result of your own decisions.
