The 16th Amendment was sold to the American public as a way to make the rich pay their “fair share.” That law, which was billed as a “soak the rich” scheme, instead now threatens to drown us.

 

 

Well today is the last day to fulfill our obligations to the government under the 16th amendment to the Constitution. Every year the taxman comes around to collect their share of our labor to indulge in the reckless pursuits. It wasn’t always like this in America. In fact up until 1913 there was no income tax.

 

The current tax code is four million words long, and more than four times longer than the collected works of Shakespeare. It requires 25 volumes to contain it and takes up 9 feet of shelf space.

 

And it was sold to the American people as a way to “make the rich pay their fair share.” Sound familiar?

According to Forbes, it takes Americans over six billion hours to comply with its filing requirements. That’s the equivalent of 8,758 lifetimes – in people years, not dog years.

Making the rich pay their fair share has been the governments unending song from the beginning of taxation. They never have enough and the rich they think always has too much, the problem is they lied then and they are lying now. Let’s face it folks the government wants all your money, and they will never stop trying to figure out ways to get it, and hopefully they will even convince you to turn it over voluntarily.

Obamacare is one BIG TAX. The intent of the entire law was never about providing meaningful health care reform but to snowball you into agreeing to give them more of your hard-earned income in hopes of receiving some promised benefit. There is only one problem with this, the government lies all the time when it comes to separating you from your money. They sell you on the idea that the program they are proposing is FOR YOUR GOOD when they have designs on confiscating more of your personal belongings through taxation.

Prior to the passage of the 16th Amendment, almost the sole source of income to the federal government came from tariffs collected on imported goods. That itself was a profound limitation on the size and reach of the federal government. In 1910 the budget for the entire federal government was $1.042 billion.

 

Then just like today ordinary citizens figured out that the increased cost of goods fell upon the consumer while the corporations would pad their profit margins by raising domestic prices to just slightly less than the foreign imports prices, thus remaining competitive but at the same time generating a higher profit margin.

 

So the proposed cure is now worse than the original disease if in fact there ever really was a problem to begin with. Being competitive in a world market has always been sound business practices, and no amount of government intervention is ever going to change that dynamic. Businesses will sell their product to the highest paying consumer base or work in the most cost effect market possible to stay in business.

We have been sold a bill of goods and the average American citizen has swallowed this poison pill of covetousness to her own destruction. Politicians will continue to pit the rich against the poor and continue to cry injustice and how they are the ones to see to it that the rich pays their fair share all the while you and I are footing the bill as the fat cats continue to get fatter.

 

The marketplace is a wonderful thing if left alone to contend with competition. But once competition is eliminated or the federal government comes along picking winners and losers, it is you the American citizen who always comes up with the short straw.

Even nature teaches us that natural laws are at work in the universe and those who try to manipulate, or violate these natural laws do so at great personal cost. It would seem that ants are far wiser than the American culture because even the ant knows that there is a time of plenty and a time of want and during the time of plenty one must lay aside a part for the lean times that are sure to come.

In 1998 Pixar produced the animated movie “A Bug’s Life” and the protagonists where grasshoppers who’d show up once a year at the ant colony to get their annual food offering so they would not have to work to produce their own food. One year they  arrived and the offering was accidentally spilled into the water and ruined. The grasshoppers did not forgive the ants required offering but instead gave them until the fall harvest to produce twice as much.

 

The colony is now in trouble, as there isn’t enough food to fulfill the grasshopper’s request and give sustenance for the colony. When the grasshoppers return to discover a meager offering, they take control of the entire colony and begin eating the ants’ winter store of food, and plot to kill the queen.

 

Their plot is foiled when the ants fight back.

 

When they all stood together and worked together they were able to overcome the oppressor and turn back the tide of tyranny.

 

You see the ruling class understands the power of the citizenry and fears it and it is for that reason the ruling powers continue to put wedges between groups to get them fighting with each other and not standing together uniformly to fight the real enemy.

 

The ant colony knew that by all of them working together the entire colony would thrive, but once dissension was sown into the fabric of their colony, destruction would follow soon after.

 

The grasshoppers would never stop coming to collect their tax, and each year the burden would get larger and would never end unless resisted in solidarity.

 

Personally I would like to see the 16th amendment nullified and the IRS eliminated. Is anyone willing to stand with me?

First the good news: According to Newsmax John McCain has said he will not seek the Republican nomination for president again. Did I miss something? Has anyone asked Johnny boy to run again? If I recall correctly there were not too many enamored with his first go around. So who is it exactly that wants John McCain to run for President again? ANYONE? Raise your hand if you want Ol’ Johnny to run for President….

The democrats where up in arms I believe not so much that they thought the plans would fail but that they knew they would actually work and this is what they were terrified of. Once the people realized that taxing and spending, and big labor union contracts was damaging to their economic futures Wisconsin’s would abandon the labor unions and the democrat party policies. And they were right about that.

While most of us where sleeping or otherwise engaged in meaningful pursuits, a number of democrats took to the floor of the house to talk about ‘Climate Change”. They are so desperate to get the country to believe in this fallacy that they thought an all-night gabfest would bolster their position.

With real climate change legislation all but dead in Congress, the senators involved in Monday’s climate-fest just want to get to a point where lawmakers can agree that climate change is a scientific fact.

Well you have to admire their tenacity to insist that the globe is warming while most of the United States has been in the deep freeze since the start of the year. Not to be deterred however, these brave souls soldiered on to persuade America that the SCIENCE is settled, Climate Change is for real.
But when it comes to REAL SCIENCE, federal agencies are not above fudging the numbers a bit to [prove their points] even going so far as to making stuff up to further their agendas.
The last story for this week is federal bureaucrats could bring the U.S. Energy boom to a screeching halt by using 2 chickens the Sage Grouse and the Prairie Chicken.

So how does two species of chickens halt the energy boom? Because inclusion of two of the species involved — the Sage Grouse and Prairie Chicken, both found predominantly in western states, including Texas and the Dakotas — could halt the U.S. energy boom in its tracks.

Why? Because putting the birds on the endangered species list empowers federal bureaucrats to limit use of millions of acres of privately owned lands, thus effectively taking them out of energy exploration and development. In other words the feds come and take control of private property.
Tell me again how BIG GOVERNMENT is for the “working man?”

God‘s anger is revealed from heaven against every ungodly and immoral thing people do as they try to suppress the truth by their immoral living. What can be known about God is clear to them because he has made it clear to them. From the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly observed in what he made. As a result, people have no excuse. They knew God but did not praise and thank him for being God. Instead, their thoughts were pointless, and their misguided minds were plunged into darkness. The crowd shouted loudly to crucify the man Jesus who claimed that He and His Father were one. He dared to declare himself God. To a devote Jewish elder this was deemed blasphemous. How could a mere human claim to be equal with God let alone be God? They could not tolerate anyone who would claim to take the place of God in the world, this was a place they held for themselves. For the ruling elders set themselves up as final authority on all things God and all things right and wrong.  Theirs was the last word, the  ultimate ruling, the final voice all were to obey and bow down to. Now their authority was called into question, their viewpoints being challenged by this carpenter’s son. They could not allow a simple man like this challenge their positions of  authority and dethrone them from their lofty positions of power and influence. If this man was allowed to gain a following their powerful positions would be greatly weakened by an ever-increasing pool of opposition.  Therefore it was important to quiet this rebel rouser before he could influence a larger percentage of the population.

The voices of mainstream thought and ideology was never to be questioned. Theirs was the loudest voices and they wielded the greatest influence in society and those who held these positions liked it that way. Any attempt to challenge these all-knowing, purveyors of all that is  true and right were dealt with forcibly and decisively. There was to be no doubt in anyone’s mind who was in charge and who made the rules.

This was the reason Jesus had to die. It wasn’t because he committed any crime deserving of death but it was because he dared to speak truth to power. He dared to challenge their school of thought and challenge their leaders and rulers.  He dared called them out on  their duplicity and falsehoods. He dared say that their way was not the right way and that there was another way. And what authority did he cite as his source? He did not quote some secular scholar nor credit an accredited academy or attend any institution of higher learning. He did not run in the approved  circles, nor did he hold any approved credentials from any recognized authority, He only cited his authority from God.

How could an unlearned carpenter’s son know what is right and wrong? How could a non-seminarian understand the scriptures or dare challenge anyone who has spent their entire life studying from the greatest theologians of the day? Only those approved were permitted to espouse biblical scholarship a simple average person could not be permitted to teach in their synagogues.  His voice and position needed to be dealt with intense opposition. His voice needed to be silenced.

Why would these leaders fear an uneducated, non-credentialed, simple carpenter going about talking to people about the bible? They feared him because what he was saying they knew was true, and the truth was what they have worked so hard to hide from the people. They knew their positions were wrong but they were not going to ever admit it to anyone, nor allow anyone to challenge them.

Crucify Him! Crucify Him! Kill this messenger and the followers will disperse, and then things can go back to the way they are supposed to be. The people will return to following our ways and not questioning our authority nor challenging our rulings. Unfortunately for the ruling class the death of Jesus did not stop the movement for it continues til today. What they failed to realize was what Jesus was saying was 100% true and truth can not be killed.  Truth will remain regardless of all attempts to dismiss it.

And the battle continues to this day. Liars still attempt to kill the truth and deniers still try to silence believers. Take Phil Robertson as the latest example of a public verbal crucifixion. His is just another in a long list of such attacks which seem to be happening more often than in times past.  What was his crime? Attempting to put a bit of God-consciousness back in mainstream America, and for that he was viciously attacked.

This is the way public opinion works in this country today. If it goes against the all-powerful tides of a current societal view, you will assuredly be drowned out under the voices of scorn and rebuke. Tolerance of unpopular views has become intolerable. What we are left with is a fear of character, a hesitancy to stand behind that which has helped define the person you are. Speaking out for differing views and challenging the things as they are is a dying practice in this society. There is an overwhelming sense of complacency and slumbering that has descended upon hearts and minds, infecting the pool of personal thought and stagnating true social and political progress.

The take away from all of this is no matter how much things  change, much remains the same. Those who want to suppress the truth to live their wicked lives will stop at nothing to silence those who speak the truth especially if they cite God as their source.

Yes, and all whose purpose is to be living in the knowledge of God in Christ Jesus, will be cruelly attacked. Evil and false men will become worse and worse, using deceit and themselves overcome by deceit. 2 Timothy 3:12-13 (BBE)

Let us be thankful that at least up to this point deniers are only resorting to verbal assassinations and have not yet risen to real crucifixion.  In other  countries believers are not as fortunate.

What can we expect in the future? Much of the same I’m afraid and probably worse since the only remedy for what ails us is Jesus and many have already crucified Him again and again, and will continue to do so to anyone who happens to call on His name, and is bold enough to speak in His name in the public square.

Let’s face it folks, there are many in America who do not want Jesus or want anything to do with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But be strong and of good courage for greater is He who is in us then he who is in the world.

Duck Dynasty Founder runs Afoul of Cable Channel

Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson has been put on indefinite hiatus by A&E after making anti-gay remarks in the January issue of GQ.
“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty,” A&E said in a statement to USA TODAY. “His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

Duck Dynasty‘s Phil Robertson said in an interview with GQ, the A&E reality star, 67, makes plain his thoughts on homosexuality. “Everything is blurred in what’s right and wrong,” he complained. “Sin becomes fine.”

The devout Christian then paraphrased a biblical passage: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God . . .Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.” US Magazine

Let us disregard the very fact that Mr Cruz paints with the same broad brush that he accuses Phil Robertson of using.

“Duck Dynasty” is one of A&E’s most popular shows, regularly pulling in close to 9 million viewers each week.

So what is the big D***ing deal anyway? Haven’t we heard worse from TV celebrities in the past? Why is this ‘big news’?

The Vice-President has been heard to proclaim that Obamacare was a “Big f****ing deal. Not many heads spun on that outcry, and no one asked him to resign his position.

What about Jon Stewart‘s  profanity laden ‘faux news’ “The Daily Show”? Why isn’t anyone up in arms over all the offensive lines he utters? Of course he could not keep silent on the Duck Dynasty’s talk of shame and he offered us this brilliant piece of s*** journalism… Jon Stewart Takes Aim at Duck Dynasty Star

And let us not forget that ever lovable, never offensive, Steve Colbert. Let’s see what he has to say about this whole ‘duck affair’… Colbert Mocks Phil Robinson. Anyone offended and asking Comedy Central to ban him from the air waves?

Leave it to MSNBC to not miss out on an opportunity to chime in with their irreverent rants on morality and societies ills. Host Chris Hayes with guest Richard Kim (sounds like he may be a bit gender confused) ponder whether Phil Robertson and Bobbie Jindal should engage in anal intercourse. Is anyone calling for their removal?

If talking about body parts is cause for removal from cable TV why not remove this classless clown?

The reason this is a big deal is because Phil Robertson touched one of the progressive’s sacred cows. It is perfectly okay to mock Christians, Jews, TEA Party members, Conservatives, Republicans and the rich but do not speak ill of  those whom the left embraces and upholds as sacrosanct.

It really is no big surprise, or even newsworthy that those who hate God will be offended by anyone who happens to love God and actually quotes the bible. The persecution of Christians has been around as long as there have been Christians. Jesus told us that Christians would be hated.

What Phil Robertson was saying is that sin is bad and included homosexuality as one of many sins that will keep you out of a right relationship with God and shut the gates of heaven to anyone who continually engages in sin.

Phil Robertson did not equate homosexuality to sin God did. The problem people are having with this whole thing is that there is a real God that must be dealt with. Human nature wants to sweep God under the rug and ignore the reality of God’s presence in this world as well as a coming judgment from God.

So Christians should just shut up about sin and crawl into a hole somewhere and keep their thoughts and opinions to themselves. On the other hand  those who espouse a secular world view are encouraged to speak loudly and boldly about what they believe and are encouraged to teach as many others as they can into believing as they believe. They are given prime time, cable TV shows, appointed to positions of influence in society, write the opinion pages of many newspapers, and hold high positions in education, and government. Christians however are singled out for dismissal.

As Christians we are commanded by Jesus to go and teach everyone about the Kingdom of God and in so doing we are to expect opposition and even persecution. So kudos to Phil Robertson who was doing exactly what Jesus asked him to do. Going and telling.

And  that is the way I see it. What say you?

President Obama’s fix to reverse millions of insurance cancellation notices may have eased slightly the pressure he faces, but Democrats at state level still face political trouble and fear what it may mean for the 2014 midterm elections.

One such Democrat is West Virginia Rep. Nick Rahall. The 19-term veteran, a perennial target in a GOP-shifting state, was one of many Democrats who recited to constituents Obama’s assurance that they could keep insurance coverage they liked under the 2010 health care overhaul.

This promise proved untrue and ignited an uproar that eventually forced Obama to reverse himself and on Thursday propose the fix that he claims will allow consumers to keep their plans. The debacle has sent many Democrats scrambling into political self-preservation mode ahead of the 2014 elections.

Rahall was among 39 Democrats who, despite a Obama veto threat, voted Friday for a Republican measure that would let insurers continue selling policies to individuals that fall short of the health care law’s requirements. It was approved 261-157.

“I’m concerned about my integrity with voters who have returned me here for 38 years. They know me enough to know I wouldn’t purposely mislead them,” Rahall said this past week. “They have that confidence in me, and I want them to continue to have that confidence in me.”

We simply can not trust those who lied to us repeatedly to fix the mess they created. Are we really that gullible to expect these lying politicians to actually care about what is good and right after spending so much political capital to sell us on this huge FAIL? If they lied to us to implement this mess do you really think they intend to tell us the truth about fixing it?

All this talk about a ObamaNoCare fix is simply political posturing in hopes that ‘we the people’ will forget how we got this nightmare in the first place. The only thing these lying politicos want to fix is their own campaigns and political aspirations.

Instead of real solutions we are being bombarded with show trials, phony House bills, and a constant barrage of the airwaves with all the ills of ObamaNoCare while these same news outlets were complicit in the implementation of this disaster from day one. When someone actually did stand up and to shed some truth on this disaster the media shouted them down and berated their character.

18 Isn’t it enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you trample the rest of the pasture with your feet? You drink clean water. Must you muddy the rest of the water with your feet?
19 Must my sheep eat what your feet have trampled and drink what your feet have muddied?

As usual the ones who pass these laws make sure that they do not have to abide by them but make sure that the rest of us do.  These politicians have theirs and then they trample all over the good grain so as not to leave anything behind for the rest of us. It is they who are causing all the ills in our society, and yet they wipe their mouths and say don’t look at me.

America we have bigger problems to  contend with than just Obamacare.  We must not forget about Solyndra, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS Scandal, and NSA snooping. The fact is if there wasn’t so much lawlessness happening on all levels of government a   horror story like Obamacare would never have happened. But it did because of all the kick-backs. buy-backs, threats, and strong-armed tactics of those pushing for more and more power over individuals.

When most people think of tyranny, and totalitarian government, they think of rigid rules and harshly enforced laws. But what tyranny and big government really involves in the majority of cases is a lot of politically connected law breakers. Regulations offer opportunities for bribery or kickbacks in many ways. Laws can be selectively enforced so that some criminals get protection and offer an unofficial income stream to the ones responsible for enforcing the law. In a democracy, criminals can get the vote out in neighborhoods and then expect favors in return from the winning candidate.

This is political life as usual especially in urban areas where unions make sure that ‘their man or woman’ gets elected to keep up their grip on the purse strings of the well-connected. These racketeers pay off politicians to receive favorable laws or regulations that punish their competition and rewards them with graft and kick-backs, in return they fill the coffers of the politicians and the cycle starts all over again.

We really ought not to be surprised by any of this since this is how things work in D.C.

Yes my friends all is not well in America, and to remedy our ills we need to swallow the painful pill of truth. Washington is not the cure to what ails us it is the cause. And those who made the mess are not qualified to clean up the mess since they really like muddying things up.
