Dumbo Economics

First there was VooDoo Economics and Reagonomics now we have Dumbo economics courtesy of the Obama administration. Obama feels that sticking it to the rich will somehow create jobs. Has he not learned anything while in office? All his REGULATORY pins his administration has stuck into the economy as not created a rush on jobs in fact it has produced just the opposite no jobs were created in August 2011. That is ZERO for President ZERO.

Some people are just not too bright. The bible tells us that fools never learn. Well I guess that makes O a fool’s fool eh?

So for the first time since starting this blog I am awarding the first ever LIFETIME DODO bird award to President OBAMA for his DUMBO economics.

I wonder if he will accept it in person like he did the Nobel Peace Prize? NAW I doubt it.

These are the times that try men’s souls

"These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." –Thomas Paine

There used to be a time in America where we actually stood for something bigger and greater than ourselves. I am fearful perhaps we have lost that national fervor for the greater good. For too long government has made dependents of far too many of our citizens and the only fight worth fighting is fighting for one’s rights or entitlements. This is a national stain on this great nation. What made America "exceptional" was the idea that every man. woman, child, individual was created by God and endued with certain inalienable rights. Each individual was respected as made in the image of God and thusly should be protected from the ravishing of tyrannical government. The colonists stood together in the 17th and 18th centuries to fend off the tyrannical talons of England and were willing to die for something greater than themselves – liberty and justice for all. Neighbor stood with neighbor to beat back the enemies of freedom.
This love of freedom drove men and women to fight and die in foreign lands because they believed FREEDOM was something worth fighting for and wanted to see others set free from despotism and wicked tyrants. America was once seen as the ONLY HOPE or like Ronald Reagan put it "a shining city on a hill".

I am afraid the shimmer has gone out of our once great nation. The populace has learned how to vote themselves special favors and monies from the federal coffers. They have learned how to steal from their neighbors and no longer stand together as one nation under God. We have been divided by politicians who play class warfare and pit one group against another in order to gain political advantage.

It is time for true patriots to once again rise to the occasion. We need true patriots to challenge the soft tyranny running unchecked throughout our society.

I take great hope in the rise of the Tea Party movement because I see in them the nature of true patriotism. It is not about them but for the country. They are the ones who have for years, worked hard, obeyed the law, looked after their families, pray to God, worship in faith communities, and basically lead quite, peaceful lives. However; the see the handwriting on the wall and have been stirred to take action. They are willing to make the sacrifices needed to right the wrongs of the ship of state so that their progeny will be able to enjoy the fruits of liberty left to them by their forefathers.

Will you be among the noble who cry GIVE ME LIBERTY or GIVE ME DEATH or is your battle cry simply GIVE ME?

The TEA Party has made an impact in the culture wars. Love them or hate them, but in the end you will learn to respect them because they are not driven by personal gain but by a cause greater than themselves. It is for their children and their children’s children that they stand and fight. This is a cause worth dying for.

Obama’s Laser Like Focus On Jobs

I wish he would turn his LASER LIKE gaze upon the federal government and kill some of their jobs and close a great deal of government bureaus and departments starting with the Labor Department, the Education Department, the Department of Energy and most assuredly the EPA and the NLRB,

At Least One Founding Father Thought Work was an Honorable Institution

"In our private pursuits it is a great advantage that every honest employment is deemed honorable. I am myself a nail-maker." –Thomas Jefferson, Jean Nicolas DÈmeunier, 1795

Since today is Labor Day I thought it appropriate to honor those who labor amongst us. They’re pursuits are honorable and should be cherished. Recently our society has become polarized by political rhetoric that demonize the achievers through ridicule and derision. Those who worked hard to achieve the American dream are now subjected to a nightmare of political posturing and a constant barrage of hate speech. This used to not be the case in America. We used to strive to be like those who succeeded, now it appears we would rather pull them down to our level of mediocrity then to lift ourselves up to their higher standard of excellence. Mediocre is not what made America great, exceptionalism was. The only way back from this downgrading of America is to once again aim for the stars. The grounding of our Space program is not the only thing Obama has brought low. His policies have reduced America to a level of mediocrity we have never seen in this country before.

We need to reiterate the words of Thomas Jefferson and once again honor the "pursuit of happiness" espoused in our Declaration of Independence. America shall rise again only if we honor those who labor amongst us.

Wanted: A True Statesman

Take a note of this quote from Calvin Coolidge and compare this short speech with what OBAMA spews forth this Thursday. I will wager that this short quote from Coolidge will say more than anything Obama’s teleprompted speech will evoke.

"I want the people of America to be able to work less for the government and more for themselves. I want them to have the rewards of their own industry. This is the chief meaning of freedom. Until we can reestablish a condition under which the earnings of the people can be kept by the people, we are bound to suffer a very severe and distinct curtailment of our liberty." –President Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933)

Coolidge like Reagan believed in the Enterprise called the American people. He believed that if the citizen was free to engage in pursuits of happiness unhindered by a bloated government leviathan. If the American citizen can engage in private enterprise without being coerced to redirect their energies to fund government waste, fraud and abuse, our economy would not be running in negative numbers. For the first time since 1945 the American economy did not produce any jobs. And all this after all the trillions of dollars Obama spent to stimulate it.
