SELAH FOR THE TAKEN

Camp Mystic Texas.

A quiet pause for those we lost — this devotional short offers a sacred moment to reflect, lament, and lift our eyes heavenward. Inspired by the Psalms and shaped by grief, SELAH for the TAKEN is a creative tribute to the young lives carried home too soon. Through visual storytelling and spoken lament, it invites viewers into a space of reverence, sorrow, and unshaken faith.

Created in response to the Camp Mystic tragedy along the Guadalupe River in Texas, this piece honors the memories of those affected while offering comfort to the brokenhearted. May it be a balm to those who mourn and a reminder that even in silence, God remains near.

Selah — pause and behold.

The Reasons Used to Support Trump are the Same Reasons Not To

Make America Great Again

Make America Great Again?

Some of the reasons people use for voting for Trump are the same reasons not to.

It is argued that since Trump is from a very liberal New York that he has had some democratic leanings. …understatement of the year right there!

One poster writes that “I’m from Philadelphia and used to be a moderate”..

I too used to be from Philadelphia, attended city schools, and have never been a moderate nor a democrat. I had parents who were not political nor religious, but by the time I reached high school I knew then that Social Security was a con game. So location does not determine ones political leanings, nor policy positions, ideology does. Trumps ideology lines up nicely with the progressive democrats and republicans whom he has supported liberally in the past. He has stated on a number of occasions that he gets along well with Pelosi and Reid and Schumer. These are not the words of a Constitutional Conservative nor someone who values limited government. While Conservatives and TEA Party members were fighting Pelosi and Reid Trump was contributing to their campaigns. When we were attempting to remove Mitch McConnell for his feckless leadership Trump was supporting his renomination.

He’s a business man, and as such has had to get along with both sides to do business….

America Needs A Vote for God This Election

While making his 50 state Decision America Tour Franklin Graham spoke about the need for God back in the American political process. He found fault with both political parties and called upon Christians to pray for their nation and to repent of their and the nation’s sins.

I agree with Mr. Graham that America has tossed God out with their progressive humanist secularism, but I can not lay the fault at the feet of the politicians the voting public chose. The focus of my concern is with the dereliction of duty of the Christian church, and the Christian home.

Persecuted Christians left their homelands and traveled across a dangerous sea to find a place where they could worship God freely and without government persecution. The pilgrims set up a colony in Massachusetts that had a lasting effect on the new nation being born. In fact, the Mayflower Compact was instrumental in the Constitution.

These brave men and women were not bashful about their devotion and service to God. They made sure that honor was given to God in their community. Parents taught their children the scriptures and made sure that they understood the importance of worshipping God in their lives and in their community. Should Evangelical Christians Vote for Trump?

A study guide for those who are heading to the polls this election cycle. The bible really does have a lot to say about exercising your faith in all areas of life, that includes your civic duties to society. Not voting or voting contrary to biblical principles has ripple effects throughout the entirety of society, and therefore your exercising your civic duty should be taken very seriously and approached prayerfully.

Evangelical Christians come in a variety of categories on the subject of politics. These different categories will help explain why some Christians who love Jesus and believe the Bible can vote for a man like Donald Trump who is opposed to what the Bible says on so many biblical issues.

Who is Ultimately Supreme? It Really is a Matter of Black and White

Supreme_Court_with_names_0I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”a He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:

King of kings and Lord of lords.

Today five men and women in black robes passed judgement on the rest of society by insisting that gay marriage is a protected right under the constitution. Although there is absolutely no language in the constitution addressing marriage at all, somehow these five justices found it hidden away within the 14th amendment. Just like the justices who found the woman’s right to abortion hidden among the dusty lines of the constitution this decision, although taunted as the healing remedy for inequity in American society, is only going to further exasperate the animus around this issue. To this day the fight over abortion continues. The fight over gay marriage is going to continue as well.

Why because the will of the people has been trampled on by the will of the black robed mob. Five unelected men and women (or perhaps transitioning or self-identified members of the opposite sex who really knows) have made it their business to decide for the entire civil society what values it should espouse. Although the democratic process was working fine to sort out the problem state by state allowing input from the citizens enabling them to express themselves on this issue, it wasn’t going fast enough for the justices so they put a end to it and decided for us.

Many are celebrating this ‘landmark’ ruling, but just as many, or perhaps even more, are mourning this decision. There are members of our civil society who view this whole concept as ill advised. Their opinions however do not matter because the five judges have spoken, and it is only their opinion matters today.

Christians today are having mixed emotions on how to handle this whole situation. Well I say rejoice and be exceedingly glad because in the end it is the Christian who actually gets the last word on the issue. By that I mean men and women arrayed in black robes are not the ones sitting in judgement at the end of all things but those who are arrayed in white robes will be the ones judging the world as witnesses with Christ.

This issue has been addressed and Paul gave the remedy in his letter to the Corinthian church.

1If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people? 2Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? 5I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers!

7The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. 9Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with mena 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6: 1-10

You see my friends, although man thinks he is the master of his own destiny, those who know Christ know who really runs the show.
