Annual ‘March for Life’ to Hit Nation’s Capital on Monday

(CNSNews.com) The annual March for Life pro-life rally is set to hit the nation’s capital on Monday, Jan. 24, bringing thousands of pro-life activists to Washington to commemorate the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion nationwide.

Held every year since 1974, the year following the high court’s decision, the march regularly draws upwards of 150,000 activists each year to the nation’s capital to both mark the anniversary of the Roe decision and to oppose the continued existence of abortion on demand.

This year’s march will feature Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) as the keynote speaker at its Rose Dinner event that marks the end of a weekend of protests and ceremonies focused on ending abortion.

One story was the news that 41 percent of pregnancies in New York City end in an abortion. That figure, twice the national average, was called “chilling” by New York Catholic Archbishop Timothy Dolan, who also said he was “embarrassed” for the city over the abnormally high rate of abortions.

The second major abortion story concerns that of a Philadelphia abortionist, Dr. Kermit Gosnell, who was charged with eight counts of murder after investigators discovered that one woman and seven babies died during botched abortion procedures that he reportedly performed.

The march will begin on the National Mall and end in front of the Supreme Court building located directly behind the U.S. Capitol.

According to the liberal Guttmacher Institute, 1.2 million abortions take place in the United states each year.  Since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, a little over 52 million children have been killed by abortion in America.

Judging Rightly: Supreme Court Justices

“Don’t be corrupt when administering justice. Never give special favors to poor people, and never show preference to important people. Judge your neighbor fairly. Leviticus 19:15

Judge Souter retired and Obama has announced his nomination to the Supreme court judge  an appointment for life. What should be the qualifications for these arbiters of justice? And what qualifications is Obama looking for?

During his campaign, Barack Obama said he wanted to appoint Supreme Court justices with a “heart” for the downtrodden, and who would use courts to help the poor.

In his place, Obama said, he’d appoint someone who understands more than just a “footnote in a case book” but also the realities of how the law affects people’s daily lives. Obama said he valued the “quality of empathy” and was hopeful of finding a new justice who would reflect on people’s “hopes and struggles” in the process of arriving at legal decisions. From the LA Times

It would appear from what Obama has said in the past and from his appointment of Sonia Sotomayor that his main focus was on finding someone who will administer his social policies under the guise of Supreme Law. And yet when we look into the SUPREME LAW, as given by God himself, we find just the opposite is  true. A true judge should not take into account one’s social standing at all but judge evenly between two parties and arrive at a JUST decision and not one twisted by one’s own idiology. The plan here folks is to do away with our Constitution the written law of the land and replace it with some convoluted social justice that makes the Government the supreme law giver and granter of rights. Whereby our constitution rests upon the foundation of those rights being given by GOD,, to the individual, and the government should not impose restrictions upon those rights.

You see what happens when we depart from the straight and narrow way and head down this crooked road of twisted justice and where moral judgment is left standing outside the door looking in.

“And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.” Isaiah 59:14

Something Scary This Way Comes

On the weeks leading up to Halloween something evil has been unearthed. Hidden away for 7 years it finally came to light here on the week before the election. This is enough to make your skin crawl.

The above commentary was intended tongue in cheek for all those liberals out there who lack a sense of humor.

Listen to an audio interview Obama gave in 2001 with Chicago Public Radio WBEZ.FM. In this interview Obama discusses the best way to bring about a redistribution of wealth, how the Warren Supreme Court interpreted the law and the fact thatit wasn’t terribly radical.

During the discussion Obama says, “Generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties, says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you,but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf . . . because the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change.”

Examine Your Heart

Potter Stewart, the former Supreme Court justice, defined ethics as “knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is the right thing to do

I’m tired of hearing about men with the “courage of their convictions.” Nero, Caligula, Attila and Hitler all had the courage of their convictions — but not one had the courage to examine their convictions, or to change them, which is the true test of character. —Sydney J. Harris

  • 5 The Lord saw how evil humans had become on the earth. All day long their deepest thoughts were nothing but evil. Gen 6:5 (GW)

  • There are six things that the Lord hates, even seven that are disgusting to him: 17 arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill innocent people, 18 a mind devising wicked plans, feet that are quick to do wrong, 19 a dishonest witness spitting out lies, and a person who spreads conflict among relatives. Â Prov 6:16-19 (GW)

  • 20 Devious people are disgusting to the Lord, but he is delighted with those whose ways are innocent. Â Prov 11:20 (GW)

  • 9 “The human mind is the most deceitful of all things. It is incurable. No one can understand how deceitful it is. 10 I, the Lord, search minds and test hearts. I will reward each person for what he has done. I will reward him for the results of his actions. Jer 17:9-10 (GW)

Black and Whites

Insight for your “Journey across the Sky”
A View from the Nest www.eagleviews.org

I saw a large, white throne and the one who was sitting on it. The earth and the sky fled from his presence, but no place was found for them. 12 I saw the dead, both important and unimportant people, standing in front of the throne. Books were opened, including the Book of Life. The dead were judged on the basis of what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up its dead. Death and hell gave up their dead. People were judged based on what they had done. Revelation 20:11-13 (GW)

They can not be bribed, cajoled, intimidated, pressured or bought off. Although they can be challenged, for the most part their judgments are undisputed. You see them everywhere-from the school yard to Camden yards, in little league, minor and major leagues. The officials wearing black and white stripes on the field are there to enforce the rules of the game.

Much like the sports referees are the sitting Supreme Court judges. Their judgments set the course of legal precedent for the whole nation. Whether they wear black and white stripes or black robes, their roles are much the same. Enforce the rules of the game.

My first recollection of a police car was a black and white. Television programs where in black and white in those days. There were no 24 hour stations and only a handful of networks to watch. Most of them would sign off at midnight after the news broadcast by playing the National Anthem.

Gone are those simple times. In those days it was simple living, for everything was seen in BLACK and white. There were shades of grey but for the most part there was right and there was wrong. You would attend church on Sunday and did not sass your parents. You respected your elders and police officers in black and white cars.

We now live in a world of full color. HDTV has taken the place of the old black and white television sets with promises of 7 million colors. Televisions broadcast programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week in high definition detail and color. There are hundreds of programming choices from which to pick. Even the modern day police cars have many colors on them, some even advertising sponsors. They look more like a Nascar racer than a police car which enforces black and white laws.

Our court system has become polluted with slick lawyers who find many ways to color a crime. The guilty are painted up to look innocent while the innocent are degraded to look like the guilty party. Victims become the criminals and the perpetrators are colored to become victims themselves.

Once upon a time, not going to church was a sure fire sign that you were going to hell. This was a crime worse than death itself. Gone are those simple days where there was only black and white.

Dressed in white Jesus will enforce the rules on the field as well. He can not be bartered with, bribed, or otherwise bought off. His judgments are final and his sentences are sure.

There are none to challenge Him. No amount of coloring the truth is going to advance your cause. For it is written in black and white, anyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved, if you do not, then you can not. It is as simple as that, black and white, in or out, saved or lost. There are not many channels on the airwaves to heaven, you must tune into God’s word and plug into His Spirit in order to receive your heavenly call.

But those who are waiting for the Lord will have new strength; they will get wings like eagles: running, they will not be tired, and walking, they will have no weariness. Isaiah 40:31 (BBE)
