Judging Rightly: Supreme Court Justices

“Don’t be corrupt when administering justice. Never give special favors to poor people, and never show preference to important people. Judge your neighbor fairly. Leviticus 19:15

Judge Souter retired and Obama has announced his nomination to the Supreme court judge  an appointment for life. What should be the qualifications for these arbiters of justice? And what qualifications is Obama looking for?

During his campaign, Barack Obama said he wanted to appoint Supreme Court justices with a “heart” for the downtrodden, and who would use courts to help the poor.

In his place, Obama said, he’d appoint someone who understands more than just a “footnote in a case book” but also the realities of how the law affects people’s daily lives. Obama said he valued the “quality of empathy” and was hopeful of finding a new justice who would reflect on people’s “hopes and struggles” in the process of arriving at legal decisions. From the LA Times

It would appear from what Obama has said in the past and from his appointment of Sonia Sotomayor that his main focus was on finding someone who will administer his social policies under the guise of Supreme Law. And yet when we look into the SUPREME LAW, as given by God himself, we find just the opposite is  true. A true judge should not take into account one’s social standing at all but judge evenly between two parties and arrive at a JUST decision and not one twisted by one’s own idiology. The plan here folks is to do away with our Constitution the written law of the land and replace it with some convoluted social justice that makes the Government the supreme law giver and granter of rights. Whereby our constitution rests upon the foundation of those rights being given by GOD,, to the individual, and the government should not impose restrictions upon those rights.

You see what happens when we depart from the straight and narrow way and head down this crooked road of twisted justice and where moral judgment is left standing outside the door looking in.

“And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.” Isaiah 59:14

Unbecoming an Obama Nation: Pray for Hope and Change

He is puffed up with pride and stupefied with conceit, [although he is] woefully ignorant. He has a morbid fondness for controversy and disputes and strife about words, which result in (produce) envy and jealousy, quarrels and dissension, abuse and insults and slander, and base suspicions, And protracted wrangling and wearing discussion and perpetual friction among men who are corrupted in mind and bereft of the truth, … 1 Tim 6:4-5 (AMP)

And I might add common sense

Armed with a slim resume Barak Obama took the oath of office for President of the United States of America, and then proceeded to run at breakneck speed to dismantle the very foundations upon which this great nation was built. Now to be fair he is not alone in his pursuits. The whole of the democrat legislation is moving at a record pace to undermine most of our traditional values and traditions which I believe have made this country great. Nothing is held to be sacred to this brood.

Where have we gone wrong as a nation? Why is it so difficult to find men of integrity? Am I to believe that this is really the best we have to offer the world? Of all the people in the United States were we so bereft of talent that we settled on this current administration? Perhaps our nation has been so adrift on the sea of mediocrity for too long that we have lost our moorings on the important things in life.  I would not be so harsh on the current administration if they showed just the slightest bit of humility, but we get just the opposite. They strut around like proud peacocks on the political stage and act more like demigods and certainly not like humble servants of the people.

It really is hard to cut them any slack when they rush head long into one failed policy decision after another. Even some of the most devote early supporters are starting to withdraw from the hail to the chief refrain. They are not starting to sing a different tune. Perhaps there is HOPE FOR CHANGE after all. In the mean time I shall hold even tighter to God and be praying for an intervention.

POLL QUESTION: DID YOU OR DID YOU NOT? AND WHY?

I am running an unscientific poll but I really am curious to learn what people where thinking. The question is pretty simple and there is no WRONG answer, nor is there a right answer inquiring minds just want to know.
  • IF YOU VOTED FOR OBAMA COULD YOU EXPLAIN WHY?
  • IF YOU DID NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA COULD YOU EXPLAIN WHY?
  • IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN AND VOTED FOR OBAMA COULD YOU EXPLAIN WHY?
  • IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN AND DID NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA COULD YOU EXPLAIN WHY?
  • IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN AND DID NOT VOTE FOR ANYONE COULD YOU EXPLAIN WHY?

Welcome the “Oaf of Office”

Seems fitting now.

The presidential inauguration went off with very few hitches, and those of us who are Obama fans got a full day of ceremonies to celebrate our new president and his delightful family.
One favorite moment was when Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced Chief justice John Roberts and said he would administer the “oaf of office.” Cold lips, Senator?
