The Supreme Court Has the Final Say

“At the establishment of our constitutions, the judiciary bodies were supposed to be the most helpless and harmless members of the government. Experience, however, soon showed in what way they were to become the most dangerous… In truth, man is not made to be trusted for life, if secured against all liability to account.” —Thomas Jefferson, letter to Monsieur A. Coray, 1823

I think old Tom was on to something way back in the OLD DAYS!

English: The Supreme Court of the United State...

English: The Supreme Court of the United States. Washington, D.C. Français : La Cour suprême des États-Unis. Washington D.C., États-Unis. ‪Norsk (bokmål)‬: Høyesterett i USA. Washington, D.C. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

With all the power the Supremes’ have amassed for themselves it seems that they have set themselves up as the  authority on all things about life and happiness. I think I read somewhere that man was created with certain inalienable rights among them was the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Unless the Supremes’ have a differing opinion about what is considered your personal LIBERTY and happiness. I would think that part of being happy is having a STABLE society with agreeable societal norms established by society. Besides the government is supposed to represent the wishes of the people who empowered them in the first place not legislate away all their ideas and freedoms.

Lately the Supreme court has decided to not bother to hear any cases of SAME-SEX marriage, which means SAME-SEX marriage is now the DEFAULT law of the land even though WE THE PEOPLE have said no many times. So now that same-sex marriage is the law of the land that means families are no longer made up of a mother and a father who have biological children, the family will now be open to court discretion  and legal construct since we took out the NATURAL ORDER OF THINGS and relegated Nature’s GOD and subjected HIM to the rules of man.

And this is going to help build up society how? Seems to me that the courts have finally put the last nail in the coffin of civil society by disrupting the NATURAL order of things and replaced it with COURT ORDERS. THUS SAYS THE SUPREME COURT!

Well the holy handbook of Juris Prudence states things differently. Jesus said He was the last authority when he spoke these words:

Revelation 1:8 (AMP)
8  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all).

So the real SUPREME ruler of all things gets the last word, the one clothed in a WHITE ROBE will be the final judge on things of life; not mortals dressed in black robes.

And that is the way I see it! What say you?

Jars of Clay Frontman Comes Out in Support of Homosexual ‘Marriage’

Dan Haseltine

In a series of assertive Tweets, Dan Haseltine of the popular band Jars of Clay took to his Twitter account and came out in support of homosexual ‘marriage,’ …

I succeed that Dan Haseltine has the right, in this country, to free speech. He also has the right to tweet his views and opinions on any topic he desires. Knowing that same-sex marriage is a ‘hot topic’ issue and one that is bound to spark deep emotional response both for and against, one has to wonder why Dan decided to open this can of worms in the first place. Was he trying to garner some publicity for his band, knowing that any press is good press, or was he seriously seeking to understand the whole issue?

From his own tweets it would seem Dan has made up his mind on the issue and is not really seeking to garner understanding from those who are opposed to same-sex marriage. He even tweets that he really does not care what the bible says about it.

I quote:

“I don’t particularly care about Scriptures stance on what is ‘wrong,’” he stated. “I care more about how it says we should treat people.”

Perhaps this is where we all run into trouble when dealing with scripture. Instead of looking at scripture from God’s viewpoint and how He feels about an issue and why, we look at it purely from a personal viewpoint and how it makes us feel and how we wish to be treated by others, whether it is right or wrong is not up for discussion. We feel that what we want and how we feel about any given issue should be respected and honored by others and they have no right to tell us how we ought to live.

Okay if that is your position, then please do not quote the bible or even reference the sacred text, since you really do not care what it has to say anyway. Scripture is not open for private interpretation, it is a spiritual guide-book, and as such requires spiritual insight into its meaning  and application. This is why so many have misapplied scripture and have misrepresented Christ in the process, because they have wanted to use the scripture to support their viewpoint and not adjusting their viewpoints to reflect scripture.

For example let us take just one commandment:

Thou shall not commit adultery. And yet many Christians do just that. They do not see anything wrong with their behavior and do not wish for anyone to tell them that what they are doing is wrong, and yet the bible is unambiguous about the issue.

And on the issue of marriage that is pretty clear as well, a man shall leave his father and mother (note it does not say father and father or mother and mother) and cling to his wife, the two shall become one flesh. Okay now we could argue what is meant by the word WIFE but it is clear what MAN is, unless of course you are confused about your gender.

Jesus addressed this issue as well and I cite the verse in context:

Matthew 19:4-9 (GW)
4  Jesus answered, “Haven’t you read that the Creator made them male and female in the beginning
5  and that he said, ‘That’s why a man will leave his father and mother and will remain united with his wife, and the two will be one’?
6  So they are no longer two but one. Therefore, don’t let anyone separate what God has joined together.”
7  The Pharisees asked him, “Why, then, did Moses order a man to give his wife a written notice to divorce her?”
8  Jesus answered them, “Moses allowed you to divorce your wives because you’re heartless. It was never this way in the beginning.
9  I can guarantee that whoever divorces his wife for any reason other than her unfaithfulness is committing adultery if he marries another woman.”

Jesus was being asked about divorce by the Pharisees, who were the religious leaders of the day. These men were supposed to be teachers of the law and they needed to be taught themselves.

You see folks the Christian community has a great deal of problems in regards to marriage, and same-sex marriage is just one of the many symptoms of a godless societal trajectory. There is a great deal of divorce and remarrying going on within the Christian community which Jesus said was committing adultery, and yet strangely nary a peep can be heard from Christian leaders on this issue of marriage.

So then if we are going to ignore adultery then we might as well ignore all other sexual sins as well and let everyone do as they please when it comes to sexual matters. After all what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes is none of our business right?  Oh wait you are making it our business by bringing your bedrooms out into the street where everyone must witness your conduct. If you do not wish to be judged by your conduct then I suggest you do not display your conduct before the entire population, but if you choose to make a public display of your conduct then you should expect a public outcry concerning that conduct, do not be surprised then if not everyone finds your conduct acceptable. Some may, some may not, but regardless of whether you have majority support if your conduct does not meet with God’s approval then in the end it will be a worthless pursuit, ending in unspeakable torment and misery.

So to Dan and others who wish to pursue this topic be assured that not everyone is going to agree with any position you take on the matter, and you should not be offended when someone takes issue with your position. Be ready to suffer the consequences, but I will ask you this one question:

Mark 8:36 (GW)
36  What good does it do for people to win the whole world (gain popular opinions, gain world renown) yet lose their lives?

Jesus concludes by saying, hey if you are ashamed of what my word says and teaches in this wicked world then he will have no problem being ashamed of you when it comes time to choose whom he will spend eternity with.

In other words it is okay if you do not want to follow Jesus and his teachings, and since you do not want anything to do with Jesus here and now, you will not be upset when he wants nothing to do with you in the here after right?

Mark 8:38 (GW)
38  If people are ashamed of me and what I say in this unfaithful and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of those people when he comes with the holy angels in his Father’s glory.”

So whether the entire world approves of your conduct does not really matter in the end. The one who gets the last word is Jesus and since you really do not care what he has to say, then I guess go ahead and do what you want because in the end you will have an entire life to live without Jesus. Isn’t that really what you want anyway?

Go ahead and do it your way but be aware that your way does have consequences both here and hereafter.

And that is the way I see it. What say you?

Why I Can Not Vote Democrat

There are lists circulating the Internet listing the 12 or more reasons why people vote republican or democrat and I was going to make a list why I vote republican but that list would be very short since the only reason I vote republican is because I can not vote democrat. Now I would prefer to vote Constitutional Conservative but since there is no Constitutional Conservative party candidate on the ballot I am left with only a couple of options. Not vote at all, vote for a third-party candidate which is most likely not going to win, or vote for one of the other two candidates and since this article is about why I can not vote democrat that leaves me with only one option the Republicans get my vote by default. Now if the democrats ever change their policies to include my positions then I could just as likely vote democrat, but since I have been of voting age the democrat party has continued to exclude more and more of my positions leaving me with absolutely nothing in common with the current democrat party. So let’s see why it is exactly that I can not vote democrat.

  1. RIGHT TO LIFE: I am a strong supporter of the Declaration of Independence right to LIFE provision. And that to me means all life should be considered SACRED and should be protected. ALL have the RIGHT TO LIFE and that right should be protected at all costs. Since the democrat party protects at all cost the killing of innocent children and are not the party of “Right to life” I can not vote democrat.
  2. DEFENSE OF TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE: Since I believe solid families make for a solid community I support the defense of marriage act. Since the democrats have come out so strongly for non-traditional marriage and redefining the terms of marriage they again leave no door open for those of us who happen to believe in the traditional marriage make-up. Therefore I can not vote democrat
  3. FATHER KNOWS BEST: Yes I know this is old-fashioned but marginalizing the role of fathers in our society has led to many ills. Many souls who are imprisoned will lament the absence of a solid father figure. Studies show households with both fathers and mothers outperform homes of single parents in many key factors. According to childwelfare.gov Fathers are important in the healthy development of children. The democrat “war on poverty” policies have had a devastating effect on many urban families. And as such I can not vote for more of the same so I can not vote democrat.
  4. TAXES: The progressive income tax has cost many American jobs. We now have the highest corporate tax rate of any developed nation and as a result many companies are taking jobs and investments off shore. As a result our job market is being adversely affected. Democrats seem to like HIGH TAXES and have yet to propose any solution to this high corporate taxation. Therefore again I can not vote for a failed policy and  thusly I can not vote democrat.
  5. OBAMACARE: This really does not need much of an explanation. I do not believe the federal government should be involved in health care at all. Medicare and Medicaid are failing and since the government is in charge of these programs I am convinced that another program like it will fail just as miserably. Besides forcing an individual to buy anything is unconstitutional even if the supreme court says that it is.
  6. THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS: The second amendment has been a thorn in the Democrat side for years in fact I recall then candidate Obama saying that we like to cling to our guns and our religion. With that attitude toward gun owners I find it impossible to pull the lever for a Democrat so as a believer in the second amendment I can not vote democrat.
  7. THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH: Corporations are indeed a group of people. Brick and mortar do not create jobs nor pay taxes nor hire employees and since the democrats have a real problem with corporations contributing to candidates other than democrats I can not vote democrat. Usually the democrats love the Supreme court but in the “Citizen’s United” case they are singing another tune. Recently Obama and the democrat party has gone on a rampage against business and free enterprise and as a result I can not vote democrat.
  8. FREEDOM OF RELIGION: Forcing religious organizations to violate their conscience is unconscionable. The constant railing against religion disenfranchises those of us who take our religion seriously. Again this comes down to a right protected by the Constitution and yet another reason I can not vote democrat.
  9. THE RULE OF LAW: Ours is a nation governed by the rule of law not the rule of men. However since taking office Obama has ignored Constitutionally passed legislation and has ignored Supreme court orders. His is a lawless administration but no one from the democrat party seems to have a problem with Obama’s selective refusal to obey or enforce the law. And since I believe very strongly in the ‘rule of law’ I can not vote democrat.
  10. THE CONSTITUTION: This founding document is the ruling law of this nation and its enumerated powers clause was meant to be a hindrance to run-away government. Our founders knew the dangers of too much government and tried to safe guard future generations by limiting the powers of the central government. Democrats have a history of finding clever ways to get around the Constitution of the United States even so much as calling it “living and breathing”, meaning that it has no regulatory meaning at all if it can be changed at the whim of any lawmaker or special court ruling. I can not support interpreters of the Constitution, what I can support are defenders of the ORIGINAL INTENT of the Constitution. Therefore I can not vote democrat.
  11. STATES RIGHTS: Once again we are faced with a Constitutional dilemma. Powers not specifically granted to the federal government remains with the states or the individual. Since taking office and appointing Eric Holder as US Attorney General there have been many lawsuits brought against the STATES regarding Voter ID Laws, Defense of Marriage amendments to state constitutions, illegal immigration enforcement, and even attempts to tell companies which states they can work in. All this is beyond the powers enumerated in the Constitution of the United States. States are free to operate independently of federal intervention. Where the federal government fails to fulfill its duties to the citizens the citizens have a right to expect their States to work in their best interests.   Since I believe in the sovereignty of states and enumerated powers granted to the federal government by the states I can not vote democrat.
  12. A STRONG NATIONAL DEFENSE: This issue comes up each time the democrats gain control of both houses of congress and the white house. Defense spending is the only area they ever find waste and cost cuts. No other department is ever considered for any cuts or reductions it is always the military. The current administration is unilaterally disarming our military while the rest of the world is arming themselves. This I feel is a very dangerous policy and as a result I can not vote democrat.
  13. SCHOOL CHOICE: I believe parents should be given options when it comes to educating their own children. Since democrats are beholden to the teachers unions they are against school choice and any voucher program and education reform in general. One of the current administrations first act as an elected leader was to end the DC VOUCHER program. For this reason and because I believe in school choice I can not vote democrat.
  14. ENTITLEMENT REFORM: The democrat’s experiment with the “great society programs” have all proven to be failures. Yet there is not one democrat willing to discuss the failures and offer solutions or fixes. Whenever a proposal is made by the opposing party to discuss the failures of these programs it is demagogued to death and the sponsors of the bill are demonized. For this reason I can not vote democrat.
  15. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: No budget since 2007. The primary responsibility for congress is to present a budget every year. The democrat controlled Senate has not produced a budget in over 3 years. As a result we are accumulating $1 trillion plus debt every year. This is irresponsible and reprehensible. And another reason I can not vote democrat.
  16. NATIONAL SECURITY: Border control is important. Our country is being infiltrated by trespassers and the current administration wants to grant these lawbreakers amnesty, and bestow upon them rights retained for true American citizens. There are many who wish to come to this country legally and I am all for LEGAL ORDERLY immigration policy, but this, crash our borders, squatters rights is not in the best interest of this country and as such I can not vote democrat since they promote this continued illegal activity.
  17. FOREIGN POLICY: Two words “Arab Spring”. A huge reason I can not vote democrat.
  18. TEA PARTY: Democrats do not want us therefore I can not vote democrat.

And the list goes on and on. Again I do want to emphasize that these are reasons why I can not vote democrat and not reasons to vote republican since many republicans fail to meet these same criteria, but since the democrats are opposed to every one of these points there is no room in the democrat party for someone who holds to these principles. The only conclusion I can come to is the democrat party does not wish to include people like me who believe like I do and since they are excluding me and my views I can not vote democrat.

Now that is the way I see it. What say you?

New Study Suggests Same-sex Families Affect Kids Negatively

Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of sexual vice] and adulterous. Hebrews 13:4 (AMP)

Mark Regnerus’s report today that lesbian couples’ children turn out worse than straight couples ignited a firestorm, drawing cheers on the social right and denunciations from the gay rights movement.

The study was the latest in a series that have made Regnerus, an associate professor of sociology at UT Austin and married father of three, a darling of the right: His other findings tout the benefits of early marriage and the costs of “hookup culture.”

Regnerus’s most recent study, published this month in the journal Social Science Research, found that the children of parents who had ever had a same-sex relationship differed in important ways from kids of married, straight parents. Those whose moms ever had a relationship with another woman, especially, were significantly more likely to be unemployed as adults than children of still-married straight parents; they were also more likely to seek treatment for mental illness, and to report having sex with someone else while married or co-habitating.

“The household instability that the [study] reveals is just too common among same-sex couples to take the social gamble of spending significant political and economic capital to esteem and support this new (but tiny) family form while Americans continue to flee the stable, two-parent biological married model, the far more common and accomplished workhorse of the American household, and still — according to the data, at least — the safest place for a kid.” Mark added.

Critics of the study were quick to downplay the findings of the study.

Gary J. Gates, author of The Gay and Lesbian Atlas and Williams Distinguished Scholar at UCLA Law School, criticized Regnerus’s comparison between children of intact heterosexual families and children whose parents had at some point had a same-sex relationship — the latter group, he noted, had experienced divorce, step-parent arrangements, and foster care, all of which are known to affect children’s lives no matter what the sexual orientation of their parents.

Although Gary was very vocal concerning the studies findings he did notice one obvious fact; broken homes make for broken children. This has long been the argument for supporting strong, stable families. Stable households make for a stable society which is why for centuries marriage was regarded in high esteem. Societies have long known that a stable family makes for stable communities which makes for a stable, civil society.

In fact even Mark’s critics had to admit as much. I am sure that Gary Gates did not mean to make a case for marriage but that is exactly what he did do when he said: “All he’s shown us is that family instability isn’t good for kids.”

I could not have said it any better. Let’s talk about the kids shall we? Where do children come from? The relationship between a man and a woman produces offspring. Children are not produced without a father and a mother. Yes it is true that science has found a way to fertilize a woman’s egg without the need for a sexual encounter but it does not nullify the egg must be fertilized with male sperm. Therefore to produce children you need a MAN and a WOMAN, and since CHILDREN are the scope of this study and the protection of children is the intent of civil laws in regards to family, reason should have us conclude that the union that produced offspring should be guarded and honored to protect the offspring.

This of course is not the goal of proponents of same-sex marriage. Such proponents would like to make the case that the only criteria for which to base a marriage is the affections of the people who wish to marry. If marriage was simply the legal joining of two people then there would be no argument. Any two people regardless of sex could enter into marriage. Since this type of union can not biologically produce offspring there would be no need for legislation to protect children of such unions. I would argue there really would be no need for MARRIAGE then.

Mark acknowledges there’s a “subtext” to his work: the belief that “the project of profound, radical expressive individualism […] is a poor one for human flourishing.”

We are all constrained by social phenomena, he said, and that’s not a bad thing — “constraints can produce much good in our lives, whether we like the constraints or not. Liberty run amok can create extraordinary personal disaster.”

In other words if we are all permitted in a civil society to only pursue our own interests without restraint, civil society would downgrade into chaos. The freedoms afforded by a structured civil society would erode as a result of the chaos of unrestrained personal pursuits. This chaos would then have to be strictly controlled by rigid laws or the society would eventually destroy itself. Recognizing marriage between a man and a woman for the benefit of protecting the progeny is good civil policy. it is clear, easy to understand, and without ambiguity. By contrast calling any relationship a marriage causes a great deal of confusion, ambiguity, civil unrest, and is bad public policy.

This is the way I see it. What say you?

Fathers Love Your Children

And he will [himself] go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn back the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient and incredulous and unpersuadable to the wisdom of the upright [which is the knowledge and holy love of the will of God]—in order to make ready for the Lord a people [perfectly] prepared [in spirit, adjusted and disposed and placed in the right moral state]. Luke 1:17 (AMP)

(WNS) — For the first time in American history, more than half of all births to American women under 30 are occurring outside of marriage.

That’s what Child Trends, analyzing data from the National Center for Health Statistics, found out. The New York Times reported this news with an apt lead: “It used to be called illegitimacy. Now it is the new normal.”

This is more important than a trend, because trends are easy to reverse. This is an ooze, a sociological horror film that could be titled The Blob That Ate America. Ask no more why the lives of the next generation, on average, are likely to be more difficult economically (and in many other ways) than that of the baby boomers.

As Bowling Green State University researcher Susan L. Brown (and many others) have found, children born to married couples, on average, “experience better education, social, cognitive and behavioral outcomes” than others.

Many single moms try hard and are overwhelmed. The Times article ends with a vignette about one of them, Lisa Mercado, who is taking a nursing course and working an all-night job at a gas station, so she rarely sees her 6-year-old: “I want to do things with her, but I end up falling asleep.”

The sins of the fathers affect their children. The Times, explaining why some women don’t get married, noted, “Some unwed mothers cite the failures of their parents’ marriages as reasons to wait. Brittany Kidd was 13 when her father ran off with one of her mother’s friends, plunging her mother into depression and leaving the family financially unstable.

“Our family life was pretty perfect: a nice house, two cars, a dog and a cat,” she told the Times. “That stability just got knocked out like a window; it shattered.” Kidd, 21, added that she wouldn’t think of marrying her son’s father, who she said she loves: “I don’t want to wind up like my mom.”

Marvin Olasky is editor-in-chief of WORLD Magazine.

The Lord warns us in Malachi 4:6: And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” (NKJV).  Many problems are associated with a broken home as we heard Brittany Kidd say ‘stability just got knocked out like a window, it shattered.’ The families fanancial security, and emotional stability where shattered in an instant leaving the children to bear the heaviest burden. What did Brittany learn from her experience? She swore she would not end up like her mother and yet she is living as a single mom the exact state her mother was left in.

Father’s and mothers your actions have consequences. As parents you are entrusted by God with the responsibilities that come with bearing children. I do not think it is any stretch to say the increase in out-of wedlock births and abortions are connected. As parents become more and more irresponsible with their own behavior, their children will suffer because of it. Our failure to live as Godly parents leaves behind a wake of ruined lives and shame.

Making abortions mainstream and removing the stigma of single-parent households does not make for a sound society. despite the ever-increasing social safety net spread beneath the single-parent household, reports show children of married parents do better, on average, in all societal issues, educationally, financially, emotionally, and socially. Granted there are exceptions but the chances are far better for children raised in a stable home with two loving God honoring parents.

The gospel writer Luke tells us that John the baptist would go before the coming of Christ to prepare a people who will be placed in the right moral state. The failure of the family is a crack in the foundation of our society which over time will cause it to crumble. There will come a point of no return and our society will be left in tatters much like Brittany’s family. As a society, and as parents, we need to examine our motives and attitudes towards children and learn to make Godly choices. Failure to do right by our children will in the end bring about our own destruction as a nation.

Just another view from the nest.

But those who are waiting for the Lord will have new strength; they will get wings like eagles: running, they will not be tired, and walking, they will have no weariness. Isaiah 40:31 (BBE)
