“A question arises whether all the powers of government, legislative, executive, and judicial, shall be left in this body? I think a people cannot be long free, nor ever happy, whose government is in one assembly.”

–John Adams, Thoughts On Government, 1776

Black families turning to homeschooling at fastest rate, but why?

The demographics of homeschooling are quickly changing, as African American children are becoming one of the fastest-growing segments of the United States population that is deciding to teach their own … and the reasons might surprise you.

According to the National Home Education Research Institute, there are approximately 220,000 black students currently homeschooling in the U.S.

“I just thought maybe I could do a better job myself,” African American homeschooling mom Vanessa Robinson told The Atlantic. “If he hadn’t been bullied I would have really looked into transferring schools, or going back to where I grew up in Kansas.”

Robinson says that the lack of racial diversity in the school system played a factor in her decision to home school, which she has worked into her busy weekday schedule as a nurse.

Besides bullying, education experts have found that public schools have also failed the black community academically.

Educational researcher Ama Mazama of the Journal of Black Studies has found that the a major part of black Americans’ shift from public schools to homeschooling has to do less with overt schoolyard racism as it does with subliminal racism at the hands of teachers and other school staff.

“We have all heard that the American education system is not the best and is falling behind in terms of international standards,” Mazama expressed. “But this is compounded for black children, who are treated as though they are not as intelligent and cannot do as well, and the standards for them should be lower.”

Personally I have seen this mindset first hand, having moved from a predominately white middle class community to a more racially mixed city school district, I found the school curriculum several years behind my former school district. The lesson school day dragged on as we labored ever so slowly through the course material. The classroom had to nurture the slowest learner in the class at the cost of those who grasped the material much quicker. This left me with a very strong dislike for the education process in general. Since then I have been a very strong and vocal supporter of the home and charter school movements. One size does not fit all, it may be okay for rain coats and sweatshirts but it is not a good fit for education since each child is unique.

Is the Net truly Neutral? How will the FCC ruling affect the ‘free internet’?
The FCC’s Net Neutrality Rules Will Shut Down Innovation on the Internet

By a 3-2 vote, the Federal Communications Commission approved “Net Neutrality” rules on Thursday. According to FCC chairman Tom Wheeler, the new rules “ban blocking, ban throttling, and ban paid-prioritization fast lanes” on the Internet.

To some this sounds like a dream come true, but to those who actually know how the internet works find the ruling disturbing and problematic. When has government intervention ever led to a better experience? Take the latest example of government meddling – Obamacare.

The bottom line is the government saw an industry doing well and wanted to find a way to skim money off the top. Therefore they invented this idea that everyone who accesses the internet super highway should be treated the same, and those who provide service must not treat anyone special or offer special fee structures or bandwidth allotments even though some providers require more bandwidth then others. As a result this industry will be yet another in a long list of industries that are now being managed at the federal level. You as the consumer will no longer have any say or choice in what level of service you will be able to get access to. And in addition you as the user will have to pay the myriad taxes that are going to be leveled on the ISP providers in the form of regulations and fees.

The government has contributed nothing to the expanse of nor the content provided by these ISP services but it wants to get a piece of the action and by so doing put itself in a place to tell everyone involved how to conduct business.

We do not live in a ‘free market’ economy anymore folks. The government is not only able to tell us what WE MUST BUY, but also what WE MUST SELL, and then tell us how me MUST SELL IT and to WHOM.

Could This New Evolution Theory Prove that God Does Not Exist? Don’t Count on It.

I thought evolutionists already proved that God doesn’t exist? At least that’s what they’ve told everybody. How many times have we read that Richard Dawkins’ book The God Delusion finally put belief in God in the grave? Let’s not forget Christopher Hitchens, Daniel C. Dennett, and Sam Harris.

This new theory by an MIT researcher begins with the existence of atoms and energy.

‘You start with a random clump of atoms, and if you shine light on it for long enough, it should not be so surprising that you get a plant,’ Jeremy England said.

Now I have to ask where did the clump of atoms come from, and pray tell who is providing the light source?

Christianity under Fire – The White House does Nothing

Christianity is under attack at the hands of ISIS. ISIS is slaughtering and kidnapping Christians, then sharing news of their horrific acts on social media vehicles. Ninety Christians, mostly women and children, were taken hostage in Syria. Their families have no idea whether their loved ones are alive or dead.

And silence is heard from the White House. President Obama can not wait to bash law-abiding American citizens, or sit down to eat with a non-repentant domestic terrorist. He has no problem negotiating with the Taliban and the Islamo-Nazi regime of Iran, but has no time for the leader of Israel. Obama apologizes to the world for the so-called atrocities of the United States and of Christians, but nary a whimper is heard about all the blood shed caused by Muslims happening almost every day.

Nancy Pelosi Fights For Congress Members To Get Paid On Time – But Forgets One Detail

During a recent press event regarding the battle over the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill, Nancy Pelosi addressed how delaying the bill could prevent members of Congress from being paid on time.

Although paid more than her constituents in her own district the dishonorable representative from California wants the citizenry of the United States to feel sorry for her if Congress does not pass a funding bill to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security.

As the graphic shows government produces more millionaires than the private sector and Nancy Pelosi has the nerve to whine about missing a couple paychecks. I know members of the private sector who have gone without paychecks for more than a few weeks, many as a result of Obamacare which Nancy Pelosi was in full support of. She does not mind putting her constituents out of work but God forbid if anyone even suggests that Mrs Pelosi should enter the ranks of the unemployed.

This has become epidemic in the halls of government. The members who walk those halls feel entitled and as such they should not be inconvenienced in any way, you on the other hand can be mistreated and abused and made to pony up for their extravagant lifestyles. They do not hesitate to spend your hard-earned money on projects that benefit themselves or their big money supporters.

Wesleyan Univ. pulls men-only frats, pushes housing for 15 ‘sexualities’

Wesleyan University, once a Christian school, is now offering campus housing for 15 different alternative sexualities, also known as “LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM.” It has a specific place for sadomasochism, but straight men looking to join a men-only fraternity are out of luck.

The Last Word

Commentary on the news from a Conservative Christian viewpoint

When it comes to “Climate Change” we are told that the science is settled. Yet true scientific study insists on failures as well as successes. When science fails to reproduce results lots can be learned by the process. However scientists are not encouraged to publish bad news, or negative results since it is the latest and greatest discovery in scientific talk that garners the headlines and funnels money toward research. There is a disincentive for true scientific study and analysis, instead we find a lucrative market in politically motivated scientific research.

There are many examples of scientific research fails, some of the most notable on the climate change debate are:

  • in the 70’s we were warned of a coming ICE AGE
  • in the 90’s it was the beginning of the end with “Global Warming”
  • now we are being treated to “Climate Change”

So which is it? Are we going to freeze to death or burn to death? Is the earth getting warmer of colder? Does man have an effect on the climate or not and if so how can he neutralize climate disruptions? But since we are told the SCIENCE is settled I guess we will never get the answers to these questions and true scientific discovery will be thwarted.

And that is the last word. This is Al Scott, good day!

Scientists Are Wrong All the Time, and That’s Fantastic | WIRED

On February 28, 1998, the eminent medical journal The Lancet published an observational study of 12 children: Ileal-lymphoid-nodular hyperplasia, non-specific colitis, and pervasive development disorder in children. It might not sound sexy, but once the media read beyond the title, into the study’s descriptions of how those nasty-sounding symptoms appeared just after the kids got vaccinated, the impact was clear: The measles-mumps-rubella…
