Bait and switch” is a well-known deception used by con artists who promise a non-existent good deal and then switch to what they call a better deal that is neither needed nor desired by their “mark.”

Our health care political hucksters are the latest to try this shameful stunt. They told  us, repeatedly, “You can keep your plan and your doctor if you like them, I promise, period!

But with the new law being implemented we find that, all along, it was written in such a way that possibly millions will have no alternative but to switch to different government-mandated, undesired plans.

In response, some ranking politicians say it’s all for our own good, which reminds us of their end game — to implement a “single payer system” managed by the federal government. It will then be obvious that there is no escape from the government-mandated plan whether you like your plan or not.

They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you. 2 Peter 2:19 (NLT)

This is not the first time nor will it be the last time that “big government” will promise some grand idea that is supposed to make life better for those who are forced to take part. There is a long list of broken promises and “bait and switch” programs that have proven to be “not as advertised”.

The Heritage Foundation has compiled a long list of government programs that have failed to live up to their advertised goals. In addition to the Great Society monstrosities that have undermined the American family by subsidizing out-of-wedlock births and welfare dependency, some others include:

  • Head Start. According to the Head Start Impact Study, in almost every category, the program for pre-school children has failed to meet its stated goals. The study found “that the benefits of participating in Head Start almost completely disappear by first grade.”
  • — Food Stamps. This is one of 80 welfare programs going to one third of Americans that will cost an estimated $12.7 trillion over the next decade without real reforms.
  • — Social Security. This is the “untouchable” entitlement, which needs reform as much, or more, than any other federal program. Women, especially, get a raw deal with Social Security. Again, as The Heritage Foundation has noted, “Among retired workers, women received $300 less than men in Social Security benefits in 2010, collecting only $1,023 in monthly benefits on average. Women are more likely than men to lack all the necessary 35 years of payroll tax contributions to qualify for full benefits, as many take time off from the work force to care for children and elderly parents. And those who don’t have a full work history are even worse off. Many seniors receive benefits below the federal poverty level.”

Given so much evidence of government’s inability to make our lives better, what makes anyone think it will suddenly become competent running Obamacare?

Only individuals, not government, can improve their lives by making right choices. Too often, government adds to our burdens with more debt. It’s the one job government does well.

Why is ObamaCare a serpent and a stone? Because resources are always limited, the concept of universal healthcare requires the Government to make decisions on the distribution of healthcare that will decide the survivability of different groups in society. That is, the welfare of the society, as interpreted by government, are placed above that of the rights of individuals.

This is the inherent evil of universal healthcare. It gives Government the right to decide life and death for entire classes of society, as opposed to individuals contracting for their own healthcare.

The first mass murders of  the Nazi Holocaust were carried out in the socialized German hospitals and the techniques for governmental mass murder were developed and refined there. Several hundred thousand handicapped and mentally ill persons were murdered in Hitler’s universal healthcare system.

Retarded and mentally ill children were euthanized and the T4 project did the same for handicapped, mentally ill and elderly adults. In his order permitting medical killing, Hitler called them “mercy killing” and “lives not worth living.” In this way Germany produced great savings in healthcare, not only due to the extermination of existing patients, but many ill persons and their families became too fearful, due to rumors of the killings, to dare check into the hospitals.

Hitler often did not state openly what he intended exactly to be done, but made his orders intentionally vague and open to interpretation. The perpetrators in the Nazi Reich were made to understand by other, more informal channels what the real intentions of the Führer were. The courts and the police were under government control, so neither his actions nor those of his minions could be challenged.

Does any of this sound familiar? Remember the remark Obama made when asked by a woman if her elderly mother should be given a pacemaker because she had a zeal for life and his reply was perhaps we should consider given her a pain pill. In other words let her die, since she is someone who would be a burden to the healthcare system and her life is deemed to be “less desirable”.

Robert Jay Lifton, well-know professor and author of the academic study, “The Nazi Doctors“, points out that the extermination of the Jews and others of different ethnic groups was itself seen as a medical solution, a procedure for the collective healing of the Aryan race and the German nation by elimination of the Jewish infection of Aryan blood. So, the entire Holocaust can be seen as an extension of Hitlercare.

Margaret Higgins Sanger who founded theAmerican Birth Control League, which later became the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, as part of her efforts to promote birth control, Sanger found common cause with proponents of eugenics, believing that they both sought to “assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit.”

Sanger was a proponent of negative eugenics, which aims to improve human hereditary traits through social intervention by reducing reproduction by those considered unfit. Sanger’s eugenic policies included an exclusionary immigration policy, free access to birth control methods and full family planning autonomy for the able-minded, and compulsory segregation or sterilization for the profoundly retarded. In her book The Pivot of Civilization, she advocated coercion to prevent the “undeniably feeble-minded” from procreation. Although Sanger supported negative eugenics, she asserted that eugenics alone was not enough, and that birth control was essential to meet her goals. (read abortion).

Make note that the need for women to be able to get “contraception” was the bait used to get women on board to support ObamaCare. This poison apple brings death and destruction to anyone who takes a bite especially the weak and defenseless.

This is the difference between Government “gifts” and God’s gifts. Even if you want to look at the Government as some sort of pseudo-parent or guardian it fails on multiple levels in providing even the basics of care. Our scripture reference makes it very clear that even an “evil” parent wouldn’t give their own child a stone if the child asked for bread, nor would they give the  child a serpent instead of fish. But the Federal government has switched serpent for fish and stones for bread for decades, and those under their care have suffered innumerable harm. Although they promise “freedom, and human rights” what they are really promoting is slavery and bondage.

Our Declaration of Independence has these words:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

It was on this basis of God-given rights endowed by the Creator that our form of government was established.  The Founding Fathers gave us a limited government of enumerated powers, constructed around the notion of protecting individual liberty. Their intent was to limit the power a centralized government had over an individual’s pursuit of happiness. They wanted to be sure that the individual was free to engage in life pursuits according to their own likes and dislikes and to engage in commerce and exchange for products or services that would add to their enjoyment of life.

What we have been sold, however, is a government that presumes to overrule the church on matters of faith, to overrule your doctor on matters of health, and to overrule parents on matters of child rearing. We have been sold through the professional political class a bill of goods that has replaced our bill of rights.

They campaign as one bearing gifts but once the gift is opened it is found  to be inferior to the God-given gifts endowed to us by our Creator. Once we have taken the bait we are forced to swallow the whole hook, line and sinker.

The ruling class has used bait and switch  tactics for a long time to get ‘we the people’ to buy into their ‘utopian fallacy’. They are in pursuit of your happiness and they will not rest until they have stolen every gift given to you by God himself.

And that is the way I see it what say you?
