Poison Ivy

Poison ivy produces urushiol to protect the plant from herbivores. In humans this chemical produces an allergic skin rash, known as urushiol-induced contact dermatitis.

I have a couple of kids that catch poison ivy very easily and one of them is my teen daughter. Living in the country like we do, there’s an abundance of it but they know where most of it is and stay away from it, so I was surprised when she came to me and showed me her blisters.

“Mom, why do I get it and you don’t?”

I had to laugh at her question. “Because I don’t go where the poison ivy is and you do.”

It was no sooner out my mouth then God flashed the neon ‘Duh!’ sign He has just for me.

Why do some things affect me that don’t bother or affect my Christian sisters? Because I go where poison ivy is and they don’t.

It’s made me, once again, consider where I walk. Am I tip toeing through poison ivy hoping and praying I don’t get it? It would be so much better if I just stayed away from areas where I know the poison ivy grows!

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15-16 (NAS)

Obama Does not Know Jack

The Nut Does not Fall Far From the Tree

I do not know about you but I certainly can see a pattern emerging here. It would appear that the Rev Wright and his radical anti-white capitalist rantings was not at all out of the ordinary for Obama after all.

I may not be the smartest bird in the forest but I can surely discern the obvious. Obama attends a church that preaches against WHITE American, sits on a board with a man who is unabologetic about bombing American buildings, and now we find him associated with a bunch of nuts (acorns are nuts).

We are rapidly heading into a time when the inmates are going to be running the asylum.

We need to get the NUTS out of politics not vote them in.

By their fruits ye shall know them.
What if Barack Obama’s most important radical connection has been hiding in plain sight all along? Obama has had an intimate and long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn), the largest radical group in America. If I told you Obama had close ties with MoveOn.org or Code Pink, you’d know what I was talking about. Acorn is at least as radical as these better-known groups, arguably more so. Yet because Acorn works locally, in carefully selected urban areas, its national profile is lower. Acorn likes it that way. And so, I’d wager, does Barack Obama.
An Anti-Capitalism Agenda

To understand the nature and extent of Acorn’s radicalism, an excellent place to begin is Sol Stern’s 2003 City Journal article, “ACORN’s Nutty Regime for Cities.” (For a shorter but helpful piece, try Steven Malanga’s “Acorn Squash.”)

How to Effectively Win a War on Terror

Winning is the most effective way to end bloodshed as is proven by this report. Taking the offensive in fighting against radical insurgent forces is making Iraq more peaceful not less like some would have us believe. Taking the effort to resist the terror attacks is working. Keep up the good work guys and gals.

Overall, militant attacks in Iraq have dropped to levels not seen since spring 2004, U.S. military spokesman Rear Adm. Patrick Driscoll said this week. Attacks are down 70% since President Bush ordered a U.S. troop increase, or “surge,” early last year.

Al-Sadr agreed to a truce earlier this month after two months of clashes with U.S.-backed Iraqi security forces. The fighting followed a decision by the Iraqi government to rein in al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army and other Shiite militant groups. Iraqi forces have also intensified their offensive against Sunni militants, including al-Qaeda, in the northern city of Mosul.

“No words are adequate to console those who have lost a loved one serving our nation.” “We can only offer our prayers and join in their grief. We grieve for the mother who hears the sound of her child’s 21-gun salute. We grieve for the husband or wife who receives a folded flag. We grieve for a young son or daughter who only knows Dad from a photograph.” George W. Bush U.S. President
